| Personal History | Svetlana was born January 28th, 2372 in New Kiev, Russia, the middle of three children. Her mother was a teacher and her father was a Federation diplomat which meant they were transferred many times during her formative years. This engendered a love of languages and she proceeded to learn all she could about the different places they lived. In 2389, at the age of 17, she applied and was accepted to Starfleet Academy, graduating in the class of 2393. While at the academy she became a member of the gymnastics team and qualified for the Intergalactic Olympic team of 2392. The games were held on Betazed that year and Svetlana did very well, winning bronze in the floor exercise and silver on the uneven bars. After graduating in 2393, she immediately began studies in psychology (her first desired profession) and received her degree in 2395. |
