| Personal History | Born on the Trill homeworld. Life was typical for young Bervag, born with the last name of Lauur. School,, home, etcetera. Like his peers he competed for a coveted symbiont, but was well aware of his limitations and had a backup plan, That plan was Starfleet. Truthfully he was going to join up whether he got one of not. The case was not, which saddened hi a little bit. Nevertheless he pressed on, entering Starfleet academy on an flight control track. He excelled in his studies there, to a degree. Becoming an more or less "B" student, although he never gave up hope for that elusive "A" He had a few, it was just that he wanted it for more that the "BS" stuff. ie Dress, regulations, etc." His first couple years were more or less eventful, learning how to fly everything from a runabout to a Miranda class starship. Truth be told Bervag was enjoying the life in general, owing to his rather chill personality. He was serious when it counted though in regards to on duty attitude For his Cadet cruise he was assigned to the USS Puller, a Miranda class Marine ship in starfleet's 4th fleet. As a shuttle pilot. This eventually became his permanent home. Then Ensign Lauur was assigned as shuttle pilot. The 22 year old Ensign served in this capacity, ferrying Marines from one op to the next. A year passed and Bervag was informed that he had been selected for a symbiont after all. Returning home, he underwent the procedure. Post procedure he petitioned to be reassigned there. His motives were twofold. One, to get a handle on his situation and two to gain some new experiences in accordance with Trill tradition. For the next two years he did just that before reassignment to the Starship Defensia as an Assistant in Flight Control, eventually becoming Chief at 26. From his 26 to 28th years he served there, being promoted again to 2XO. |
