However, she does know that it isn't always the case that the good outweighs the bad. - Her determination to do the right thing, however hard the choice must be, is a strength of hers. Even though it might cause her some pain down the road. Weaknesses: - Her telepathy and empathy causes her a great deal of headaches. Her kindness can also cause her problems, getting her feelings hurt when people shows their true nature and it isn't as kind as she had thought. - The very same determination to do the right thing, can cause quite some pain, as it often end up with hurt people. |

| Personal History | Abandoned at birth at a hospital on Earth, Arianna spent the first 5 years of her life at Fate's Orphanage. She was adopted by Maura and Aidan Connolly shortly before her 6th birthday. While they showed her kindness and love, Arianna didn't feel like she fit in with the other children at her school. Being bullied a lot, she steeled herself to make it through the bullying and finished school with some of the best grades of her year. As she grew older, she realized that she wasn't going to fit in on Earth at all, much less at her adoptive parents' Antiques' shop. She started having headaches around the age of 15; something that didn't help her when she was bullied. Ari decided to attend the Starfleet Academy the moment she turned 18. She got admitted and started her training with determination. She found kindred souls there; people who was different too. From a human's viewpoint that was. At the Starfleet Academy, she takes several courses in Diplomacy and Counseling. While trained for fighting, she prefers not to be aggressive. She believes in peace rather than war, though she understands that war, and fighting, can be inevitable. At the Academy she meets the Betazoid professor in self-defense, Simus Trox, and the other teacher of her that class, a Vulcan named Neth, who notices her regular headaches and is ultimately the ones who urges her to go to sickbay. The headaches also got worse, to the extent that she went to sickbay. There, a series of blood tests were done and she found out that she wasn't fully human, as she had thought. Her adoptive parents never told her anything other than she was human. She had rarely been to the doctors on Earth, as she had rarely been sick. And they had never taken bloodwork. She learns that she's half Betazoid, a species known for telepathy and empathy. It does explain a lot to Ari, though she has no idea how to learn to control and utilize those powers. After graduating from the Starfleet Academy, she spends 2 years with counseling cadets and helping the Counseling and Diplomacy professors with readying papers for the various classes. After her 2 years of helping professors and cadets, she takes a year off to figure out where she'd like to go and what she'd like to do exactly. She ends up deciding on wanting to help with counseling on a starship. As she is being transferred to the USS Ottawa, she is hoping that she can get some guidance on her empathy and telepathy. It worries her if she will go insane because of them. |
