| General Overview | Pierce is considered a rather studious individual, he tends to be quiet in nature. This doesn't mean he is shy, far from it. He likes to meet different species, different people, feeling that they enrich his life. In social situations, he doesn't have much trouble in finding subjects to converse about, due to what he has learned, read and has seen. Despite his quietness, there is a quality about him that people seem to want to talk with him. He isn't one to put himself in the spotlight, doesn't think it is necessary for him to be the star of the show. And yet, at times people seek him out just to chat. He exudes confidence, and has poise,probably due to the dance classes his mother insisted on him taking.He believes in the old fashioned rules of good behaviour, and has a deep seated sense of honesty and integrity, values hard work. He likes to work with his hands, so delves in different artistic media. |

He is a self-starter, a man who doesn't need constant watching over. He likes to encourage his comrades and fellow beings to do better. | Hobbies & Interests | Pierce has a few interests which seem rather eclectic. He loves to ride horses, loves dancing, he likes to write and has a collection of antique guns.Among those are a pair of 1870's Smith and Wesson Schofield Model 3 revolvers, A Winchester. He loves to swim and go scuba diving. He also paints, and plays the piano. When young he used to participate in rodeo contests. He still practices his roping tricks, utilizing the holo programs. He also competed in target shooting. He also loves the great outdoors, being able to live out in the wild. He also found he had a talent for art, which helped in logging his findings and journals about flora and fauna he has encountered. Other forms of interests are martial arts, feeling that it helps to keep him physically fit. |
| Personal History | Born in California, raised upon the family ranch in Santa Barbara, named Rancho del Cielo ( Ranch in the Sky) Pierce along with his other siblings had a fairly simple life. They did work around the ranch, raising cattle, tilling the earth and enjoying the great outdoors. Their home looked towards the Pacific Ocean, a view Pierce has never gotten tired of. Pierce is the seventh child out of eight, his twin sister, Jasmine being the eighth. His years spent on the family ranch, and his parents insistence of a simple lifestyle filled with an honest days work and an honest day's pay has kept him pretty much on the straight and narrow. He worked at the family ranch, herded cattle, fixed fences, even worked in the field. He had at first joined Star Fleet academy, wanting to become a captain of his own ship, much like his grandfather had done. His focus though ended up going more into finding cures for diseases and a apparent fascination for science. This all due to his twin sister coming down with an illness, which wouldn't leave until an old remedy had surfaced up in some centuries old journals. Pierce found that rather interesting and delved into medical research. He found out there were those who had trouble with synthetic medicines. His interest grew into the realm of Holistic Medicine and research. Realizing he had more of an affinity for science and medical, Pierce threw himself wholeheartedly into those fields. Being rather studious, he worked hard, getting good marks. He encouraged his fellow classmates to go beyond their own boundaries, to push themselves more. A case in point, one of his fellow students, Carissa Holmes, she never thought she would be good enough for a command position. With the help of those who were giving the Kobiyashi Maru test, he was able to prove to Carissa that she was capable of commanding a ship instead of just staying in one comfortable slot. During his academic years, he met a young woman who went into the field of Counseling, She was rather eager to learn, had a shadow in her life due to the death of one of her older brothers. He adopted her as a younger sister, his heart going out to the girl who seemed a little bit lost. He found that they shared some interests in holistic medicine and that she loved to dance. They had entered in several dance competitions and won several. After he graduated from the academy,Pierce was assigned to a Sovereign class ship the USS Destiny He was there for several years. At one time the ship he was with docked at Starbase 343 right before the star base was attacked by a Borg Ship. During that time, he assisted those in medical of the station, due to his work, and his skills were needed, Pierce was transferred to Starbase 343. He served in medical for a couple of years then transferred into Science. Pierce once again worked diligently adhering to his duties untiringly, unfailing. He also volunteered for work when he could, wanting to get as much experience in as he can. He has a great interest in Xenobiology, Botany, and several other sciences. Lets face it he is rather intrigued by life and its many facets. Knowing that Ensign Pierce Reagan had dreams of going out in space, the Chief of Science, Ezram Jones noticed an opportunity for the young man, initializing his transfer to the USS Norfolk. Pierce was excited for this opportunity and will ever be grateful to Ezram Jones. He served on the USS Norfolk giving his all and then some, his hard work paid off rising to the rank of Lieutenant. He then was transferred to the USS Crazyhorse where he became the Assistant Chief Science Officer. He enjoyed his time on that ship, he was there for a couple of years. Pierce then was transferred to the USS Arduin, a science vessel again as Assistant Chief of Science. He had hoped for a spot of being Chief of Science but he decided to make the best of things and was glad that he hadn't made a big stink about not getting the position he had wanted. He valued the experience he gotten on the USS Arduin. An opportunity arose for him to join a research team on an icy planet which was nicknamed Permafrost. It consisted of 200 people who performed experiments, charting the planet as well as the rotation of the stars. They also studied the environment,( glaciology, geophysics, meteorology, upper atmosphere physics, astronomy, astrophysics, and biomedical studies) and basically living there as part of another experiment. The station/research facility was powered by the geothermics there. Making it a sustainable source of energy. With there being fauna as well as flora indegenious to the planet, the planet wouldn't be allowed to be terraformed. Minerals were found there as well which would be good for Star Fleet as well as others. Studies were also being done for the feasibility of mining for said minerals without messing with the environment. Pierce crosstrained into Operations, finding that was such the case for the establishment there. Everyone working together, to keep things going, being educated in different aspects of the research facility. He liked being able to link into not only science but engineering as well. He was there for 3 and a half years. During that time he met a woman named Bethany, who had come to the research center. She flew the runabouts to take the scientists to the various locations they needed to go for studying the different parts of the planet. She also was part of the security team to help keep peace in the facility. It took a little bit for Pierce to get to know her, as Bethany was a rather difficult person to get close to. She had cold exterior, but Pierce detected a warmth in her that she hid behind the cold facade. She just didn't feel like she wanted to get close to anyone. Pierce found out that it was due to her personal background. She was finally convinced that it wouldn't hurt to let her guard down, and accept his friendship and perhaps it becoming even more. Star Fleet had lost contact with the Permafrost Research Facility, they had sent a ship to find out what had happened. When they arrived, they found that the facility had been under attack by marauders. Searching the facility they found several survivors who told them about a secondary facility where those who had survived the attack had fled. Pierce had been found barely hanging onto life, grieviously wounded. He, along with others, had stood against the marauders, which had attacked. He could be heard moaning out Bethany's name and checking the files, the rescuers had found that she was among those that didn't make it. She had stood by Pierce's side and others repelling the attackers. The USS Arduin had arrived shortly after, having driven away the marauder's ship. Pierce and the others who were grieviously injured having been stabilized, were placed on the ship while work began to reconstruct the science facility. Pierce was sent home to Earth, to recuperate both mentally and physically. It had been found that he had selective amnesia, only remembering the first year of being at the research center. There were sketches of Bethany in his sketch book, he vaguely remembered as being someone he had met. A year of physcial rehab, along with counseling for amnesia and night terrors. He underwent hypnotherapy to find out what his night terrors were about, as it was getting in the way of him returning to work. After a few long hard six months, the mental walls crumbled and he was able to remember, and face his grief. It was devasting, to face the tragedy of what happened. In essence it was good as well, for through counseling he realized that it wasn't his fault for her death. He still suffered somewhat of survivor's guilt but had coping skills put into place. Pierce was deemed fit to return to duty, becoming the Chief of Operations Officer on the USS Nighthawk. The Nighthawk had been taken back to where it was deemed she would have to be refitted and restored. An opportunity had presented itself for him to be the next XO of the USS Ottawa, Pierce accepted it, for it was a new challenge, and something he looked forward too. |
