| Personal History | Janel grew up on a small island in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. She was the middle child and spent many of her days as a child helping her small community tend to the gardens. When the fishermen came back she would watch them offload their catch and often dreamed of being somewhere far away. She would often help tend to the sick and injured and found she really liked to help others. As she grew older she would find any information she could to increase her knowledge in the field of medicine. She honed her skilled in sketching by copying a multitude of medical diagrams that she kept in a small journal. When she finally had the opportunity, she applied to Starfleet Academy requesting a medical specialization. Much to the surprise of her family, and herself, she was accepted and left home at the age of 18 to study in San Francisco. |

| Service Record | Janel graduated from SFA and continued her medical studies for another two years of specialized training. Her first posting was as a junior medical officer with the rank of crewman on the USS Constellation. Promoted to Ensign and transferred to the USS Oliver as a Medical Officer. Promoted to lieutenant and transferred to the USS Songbird as the Assistant Chief Medical officer. Promoted to LtCdr transferred to USS Ottawa as Chief Medical Officer. |
