| Personal History | Nidria was born Nidria Deruhn on Trill. Her father was a joined Trill. Her mother always wanted to be a joined Trill, but never made it through. So she did her best to get her children trough the best education to get them in the programme. Nidria didn't want that. She had other interest. Her sister Seleen finally got in. When Nidria was 16 years old she escaped her mother and her father helped her get to Earth to do some studies there. She met Chef Dan on Earth and he taught her everything she knows and she learned some other things on the side. Being alone on Earth, her family still back on Trill, Dan took her under his wing. He never forced her, he let her discover her own passion for cooking and also drinks. Having kids of her age, he had a click with her and treated her like a daughter. But he never made her forget about her own parents and reminded her many times to contact them and tell about her progress. Dan took her in and she was accepted by T’San and his sons who were about her age. She saw them follow in her mother’s footsteps and joined starfleet. She never really had that longing and was happy where she was. When Chef Dan came to live on Earth with his family they opened up a restaurant together, that she later maintained when he left to join his wife in Starfleet. Most of the time, she was manning the bar, interacting with people. But Dan had her run the kitchen very often and many times told her to leave the comforts of the kitchen and the bar. Because of Dan’s trust and faith in her, she grew a very confident lady. Confident to be spontaneous. When Dan left Earth to join starfleet, he left the restaurant to her. She didn’t understand his desire to leave Earth, but she respected it. She didn’t want to quit what they build, so she continued the work. A few months before joining the Juno, a lieutenant Cadru Rilog had an accident in which he was heavily wounded. They brought him back to Earth for treatment, but it was too late and they had to remove the symbiont. A new host couldn't be there in time, so Nidria was pulled out of the restaurant. She was reluctant at first to go. But then she remembered all the things her parents taught about the symbionts being important above everything else. So she joined them to starfleet medical. She was joined with the Rilog symbiont and from that day on she was Nidria Rilog. Since her previous host was a starfleet officer, she wanted to go in space. She had no urges to join starfleet. But she wanted adventure and space. She closed down her restaurant and got on the next transport to Empok nor, where she knew the Juno would be stationed. Her symbiont may have been a bit suggestive on who to go find, but Nidria trusted Dan, who was like a second father to her. |
