| General Overview | Jack is a man of two halves. Firstly he is a devoted marine who takes his role very seriously; secondly he can be quite the jovial at times. His personality can be said to be dependent on what side a coin lands when you flip it, you never know. He is fiercely loyal to Starfleet and those he trusts and will do almost anything to ensure the safety of his men and the completion of a mission. Even if the cost is his own life. Everything he does he gives his complete focus and energy too. | |

| Personal History | Jack was born in Carson City Nevada on 8/27/2356. The only son to Thomas and Synthia Haines. His father was a Lt. Colonel, at that time, in the Marine Corps of Starfleet and his mother an archaeologist. Three years later his sister Rachael was born. Over the years they moved around quite a bit. The longest they spent in one place was Texas, where both Jack And Rachael graduated. During his time at high school and later in the Academy he found an interest in martial arts and wrestling something which he still keeps up to this day. When he graduated his class were given leave for a month before their first posting. He went and stayed with his sister, who had moved back to Carson City. It was there that he picked up his nickname. Black Jack. He had always, since he can remember, carried a pack of playing cards. Those that knew him over the years knew that he loved to play black jack all the time. Yet when he was on leave he went to Reno and had a great time. Won some money playing black jack. Enough to help pay for some of his sisters college. His first posting was on the USS Ulysses. The Ulysses was an Intrepid class starship with a decent sized contingent of marines. Jack spent two years there doing various missions on little importance on the larger scale of things. He was then transferred to the USS Indigo, SPEC OPS. This is also the start of the Dominion War in which Jack lead many CLASSIFIED missions against the enemies of Starfleet. When the war was over Jack stayed with Spec Ops. for several more years. It was a phone call from his sister that finally got through to him to come out of the cold, so to speak. Upon leaving Spec Ops he was promoted to Major. He transferred to the USS Ottawa as its Marine Commanding Officer. |
