Harry knew he had to deal with Carly, but if that was not bad enough. He had to deal with Kerja and Tera. And it appeared that Tera was not going to make it. Harry did not want Kerja to loose her mother, but then again, he did not want to loose her again. "Sorry for making you work late, any updates on Lieutenant Aanyo's condition?" Asked Harry as he waited outside of Sickbay with T'San. He did not want Kerja to hear their conversation.
T'San pulled her gloves on. "We have done everything we could, but it doesn't look good for her. Right now I am not even sure if she can make it."
"Do the best you can, Doc." Simply said Harry as he motioned for T'San to follow him into sickbay.
As they walked in, Harry noticed T'Para and Kerja by the side of Tera. The room was very silent. Harry walked over to the bio bed. He debated about saying something but he looked to T'Para. Hoping she would give an update.
" We've done all we can sir. The rest is up to her. The present had messed her up badly. " The hybrid said the tiredness showing in her voice.
"Thank you Doc, I am grateful for all you have done." Said Harry as he walked over to Kerja, and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Hey kid." Said Harry, not sure what to really say to her.
Kerja was looking at her mother. Only the 'hey kid' from the man who was apparently her father could pull her away a moment. Everything had gone so fast for her ever since she found out she had a father. Loosing her mother for the second time, and maybe even permanently, was what she feared. Her eyes were red and wet with tears. She didn't know what to say to him. She has been with her mother all her life. And now that was going to stop. She didn't know how to respond to her father. She didn't know what to say.
Harry could tell that Kerja was taking this pretty hard. And rightfully so. Only time will tell if Tera made it or not. He looked over to T'Para and then at T'San. No one was really talking. The moment was speaking for itself. Harry was at a loss for words as well. "Time to go home, you can come back tomorrow. Your mother needs her rest." Said Harry, as he looked to the other two ladies to help him.
T'San walked to her and put her hand on Kerja's shoulder. "Kerja, go with your father, Doctor T'Para and I will take good care of your mother. And if there is any change or if she wakes up, we will inform you and your father immediately."
Kerja took a deep breath and one last look at her mother before turning to her father and let him take her away.
"Thanks Doc." Said Harry as he started to walk Kerja out of the room. Thinking to himself, the night was not over for him. He had to help Kerja understand, and deal with the shenanigans of Carly earlier in the day.
