Mission: [USS Shanghai] S1E2: Encounter in the Abyss
Location: Juno
Timeline: 05/12/2394 @ 1600

Xalanth sighed as he read the note in his hand. He knew this would have happened. Even if most of the crew wanted to be here starfleet could never get a full complement of crew. At least 5% of the crew had been ordered here and not everyone would be happy being sent on a ten-year mission.

Looking up from the note he looked at the brown haired human who had reported this. " How long did you know ensign Lirnid?" He asked politely.

" Barely a day sir. I was just assigned here and she was my roommate. I came back from my shift and found the note. I read it and called for security right away. " The human replied looking slightly nervous.

" Relax ensign you did the right thing. We'll take it from here you're free to go." The dragonain stated giving her a slight reassuring grin. The ensign gave a polite yet still slightly worried smile and hurried off.

Xalanth let out a long sigh as he leaned forward in his chair. That was three already two had been caught trying to sneak off the ship and now one who had gotten off the ship. Worse she was a bajorian so had probably vanished into the crowd of DS9 or already boarded a ship to bajor. His staff had already informed the staff on DS9 and information had been sent to bajor had already been sent. Not that it was needed. She'd probably hand herself in after the ship left through the wormhole.

He grumbled something that the translators didn't catch as he stood up. He didn't need this right now he had a battle to plan. He already had one drawn up. It had worked like a charm with his own people, but he knew Starfleet security were not the battle hardened legionries and special forces of his people. As far as he knew this would be the first time the fleet had tried this.

" All security officers please report to the briefing hall. " He said tapping his combadge he made his way to the briefing room. He had all the available information and the blueprints of the colony which he brought up on the central computer screen. As he heard the door open and the personnel started to fille in he grinned to himself. He now had to lead these people and that he could do.

" Right all of you. As some of you know the colony.........." He began as the room filled up. Time to do his job.
