Mission:
[USS Shanghai] S1, E3: Down Time
Location: Quarters of Charlena Dilucca
Timeline: 05/16/2394, 2130 Hrs
Harry had no place to go, Tera was told she can use his quarters to reunite with Kerja, this left him without a home. He was not sure what to do, but then he remembered he had a girlfriend. Granted they had not been sexually active, maybe she would let him crash on the couch, if she said no. He would ask the first officer. Or live in a quad till Tera left. He needed time to process things. He tapped on the intercom of Charlena's quarters.
Charlena had just come out of the shower when she heard her door chime. She opened the door and saw the captain with the look of desperation on his face. She didn't ask and just said, "Come in, give me a moment to get dressed. She walked in to the bedroom.
"Very kind of you, sorry to show up unannounced." He said, as he walked into her quarters.
She came back out. "What can I do for you, today?" She asked as she put a trey with a tea set on the coffee table. She had made a pot of tea, as she love to that at the end of the day before bed. She opened a cabinet in the room and took out an extra cup. "Tea?"
He walked over to the table and sat down. He reached for a cup of tea. "Tea would be great, and thank you." He said, trying not to be rude, and trying to be polite. After he took the tea, and took a small sip. "I'm looking for a place to crash, I gave Tera and Kerja my quarters. I was hoping to crash on your couch." He said, hoping that was not to much of him, to ask his new girlfriend.
He could only imagine what was going through her head. Harry's intentions were sincere. He was not trying to seduce her, he just needed a place to crash. He had no home for the next 8 days, this was going to be a very very long week for him.
She had to think about that for a moment. She was wondering why he hadn't offered his ex and daughter a guest room, or taken one himself. He was the captain of this ship. But maybe he was so used to his daughter being around that he couldn't be alone. That all went trough her hear, but she just didn't want to bother him with all that. Instead she said, "I have some spare pillows and blankets in my bedroom. And I do wake up at 0430, I do hope that's not too early for you?"
"It will be fine, sorry I am crashing at your place, all rooms are filled up, will be relieved when the survivors are on Empok Nor, Well all but one. Not excited that Kerja will be leaving. But I did get some strange news today." He said, trying to figure out how to Charlena that he had another child. Harry started to wonder if there was any other children out there. He felt like a gigolo!
She sat down next to him on the couch. "What is it?" She asked. She hoped it wasn't bad news. She had no idea why he was hesitating. It couldn't possibly effect her. Unless it would effect there relationship. She didn't know, but the fact that he was going around it now had her a bit worried.
"Apparently Kerja is not my only child, I have another daughter, a Carly Wilda. Her mom is going to prison, and she needs a place to stay, she is 16 and meeting us at Empok Nor." He said, not sure how to sugar coat it, so he just said it.
"You are full off surprises," Charlena smiled. "I can see you can have your dream family after all. So what is you daughter like?" She asked.
"Dunno yet, she seems nice. Well respectable daughter. Like Kerja." Said Harry, as he laid back in her sofa. He thought to himself. This was a little awkward. Why did he come to her place. Going to Bervag's or the quad barracks would have made more sense. Then it dawned on him. He cared more for Charlena than he thought he did. That thought brought a smile to his face.
"Then there is nothing to worry about, like Kerja, she will probably have to adjust to life on a ship and having a father in her life." Said Charlena and then she noticed he was smiling. "What are you smiling about?" She asked with a grin. "Was it something I said?"
"Just thinking of all of the people to potentially ask to stay with, I asked you first. Deep down, I think it means I trust you a lot." He suggested, without trying to freak her out. She wanted to know why he was smiling, he tried to tell her in a non creepy way.
She nodded listening to him. "And you secretly want to be with me, maybe it's time you admitted that." She leaned forward to get herself another cup of tea. After taking a sip she got up walked to her bedroom to come back with a pillow and a blanket. She put the folded blanket and the pillow next to him. She then sat down next to him again. "Well?"
"It's no secret, that I want you. Wanted you since we met in New Orleans on the holodeck." He said, with a smile on his face. He slowly reached to grab her hand. "I think I am ready to take this to the next step, my girlfriend." He asked, as he looked into her eyes. Waiting to see what she was going to say.
"Wow," Charlena said, "that's a big step for someone like you. Having kids is doing wonders for you." She smiled, trying to look away but couldn't. "I wouldn't have any objections to that, to be honest," she said leaning a bit closer to him.
"Thanks. You have been so kind, to me. I really appreciate." He softly said as he leaned in to kiss her gently on her lips. He was not sure how she was going to react. He did not invite himself over, to just score with his new girlfriend. He wanted to be a gentleman. A respectable person. He tried to pull himself away. But his feelings were strong.
She felt his lips pressed against hers. She tried to push him away, but she could feel his wasn't holding back this time. Finally she managed to push him away. She held him down on the couch and just leaned over to kiss him. When she let go she said. "It might be possible that I like to be on top of things." She said grinning before getting up to clean up the teapot. "Maybe if you're nice, I let you in to my bedroom." She then put the clean teapot and cups away. She then walked to her bedroom. "And by the way, you are a good kisser."
"Thanks, your pretty good kisser as well." He hinted with a smile on his face. He wanted to ask her if she needed help. But like most marines he knew, she was done putting it away, before he could ask her. He grabbed the pillow, and took a deep sigh, and thought to himself. That's an incredible woman. He placed the pillow at one end of the couch, and stood up to grab the blanket, he prepared to unfold it, and lay it out.
She was on her way to her bedroom then stopped and turned around. She looked over to him and then grinned, "Alright, Harry, get in here. We could practice our kissing some more." She didn't wait for him outside, but just walked in and sat down on the bed. "Getting promoted to unit leader has it advantage in room choice." She smirked.
"Yes Ma'am." He said with a big grin, as he hopped off the couch and walked into the room, he started to embrace her inside her door.
