[USS Juno] Is it broken

Mission: [USS Shanghai] S1, E3: Down Time
Location: Science Lab
Timeline: 05/18/2394, 1500 Hours

Harry, Bervag, T'San walked into the science lab of Kimoni. "Sorry for showing up unannounced Lieutenant Jexen." Said Harry as his senior staff followed him in.

"That's alright Captain, I was just doing a few last checks on this... artefact." She replied, putting her tricorder on the bench. She tapped the forcefield around the Tubo.

"I want you to verify this device is broken, so we can archive it and lock it up for all eternity." Said Harry, wanting to lock up that device and forget about it. He hated the idea of being joined to Jexen. It was not a pleasant experience for him or his daughter. In a small way he blamed the device for his daughter choosing to stay with her mom. Her mom has a nice dull life.

"I wish I could do that, it currently seems to be inactive, but it seemed that way before when the first incident. Given what little we know about it, I can't be sure one way or the other."

"I want this device locked down and broken, so it can not affect anyone else." Said Harry as he looked over to Bervag and then at T'San.

Bervag walked in behind Harry, nodding to Jexen as he did. Upon entry into the room he saw the tablet. He stayed a little bit away from it. He wasn't going to take any chances. He knew what happened last time. "Or destroy it." Bervag said.

"I have to concur with Commander Bers, my personal advice would be to use Transporter code 14 to destroy it." She nodded back at Bervag, noticing his unwillingness to get too close. She didn't blame him one bit.

"Duly noted, and we might have to do that. But I rather study it, learn from this and make sure it never happens again. What do you think Commander T'San?" Asked Harry waiting to see what the chief medical officer had to say.

T'San put her arms behind her back. "Normally I would encourage scientific research, but in this case I concur with the Commander and the lieutenant. Besides, was it not because of our attempt to research the device that got us in that predicament the last time?" She asked.

"It was, but we are explorers, but I see your concerns. Perhaps we should destroy it. I was hoping to learn more from this device, but not at the expense of the crew. Miss Jexen, gather all your notes and lets complete our research on this device, so we can destroy the device." Said Harry, agreeing with his senior staff. The device was very dangerous.

Kimoni turned around and gathered up a few PADDs from a small table behind her and placed them on the bench near the Tubo.

"Everything I've catalogued and all my notes is here. I always take a copy of my notes, just in case. I have a few more reading to take, but I can transfer them straight to the PADDs."

"After she completes that, we will destroy the device. How much time do you need Lieutenant Jexen?" Asked Harry, as he watched Kimoni gather all of the information.

"Give me another hour to go through everything and make sure it's all up to date."

"While your doing that Commanders Bers and T'San and myself will prepare the transporter room." He said as they left the room. He wanted to give Kimoni all the time she needed to get the device ready.

One Hour Later

Harry, T'San and Bervag arrived back in the science lab. "Are we ready to go Lieutenant?" Asked Harry.

Kimoni nodded and dropped the field around the Tubo. She grabbed a pair of thick gloves from a drawer in the bench and gingerly picked the Tubo up.

"Yes Sir we're all set."

They placed the device in a container, and he handed it to T'San. "Will you do the honors?" He said, as he motioned for her to carry the device and take it the transporter room. Harry and Bervag followed closely behind her along with Kimoni.

T'San carefully took the container so to not drop it and then walked after the others out of the science lab.

It did not take long to get to the transporter room. Harry and Bervag walked over to the transporter pad, and relieved the transporter chief. He waited for T'San to join him.

T'San climbed the transporter pad with the container and put the container gently on the pad. She then walked off the pad again and stood next to Bervag with her arms behind her back.

Kimoni folded her arms across her chest and stared at the container's contents. It had caused no end of pain to multiple people, her included. The scientist in her was almost sad to have to destroy this thing, but the Kimoni and Jexen in her hoped she'd never see another Tubo again.

"Commencing Transporter Code 14," Said Harry the device de-materialized and vanished. "Well that's over." He said as he looked at the group.

"As much as I hate to see a find like that be destroyed, I for one will sleep easier knowing we don't have to worry about waking up in another body." Kimoni said, unfolding her arms, her face visibly relaxing.

"I agree, Lieutenant, it became a mental drain on the crew." T'San had nothing else to say.

"As do I" Bervag replied.

"Alright now this is over, lets call it night. See you all in the morning." Said Harry as the scene ends.
