[USS Juno] A litte sluggish

Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: 06/01/2394, 1000 Hrs

"Lieutenant Taylor what brings you down to my engineering bay?" asked Alex, wondering if the helms woman was coming down in person to complain about the sluggish performance of the impulse engines.

"You know my name, impressive." Said Avril with a small grin on her face. She wondered if he knew the entire crew, or just the pilot that would be tinkering with his engines?

"How could I forget a lovely face like yours," was what he wanted to say to her. Instead Alexander smiled an said, "I think its wise, to know the person flying your engines, don't you agree?" He asked with a big boyish smile on his face.

"I do, name is Avril Taylor." She said, as she reached out to shake his hand. She hoped Alexander was just as good or better than Christian Barrett. Avril had a lot of respect for the former chief engineer. She was sad to hear he was being transferred so soon.

"Alexander Newman." He said as he reached out to shake her hand. He then went on to asked. "Been itching to try to the QSD I heard only 4rth fleet and vesta's have them at the moment. Can not wait to try her out, what's it like?" Asked Alexander. He was itching to take the USS Juno into quantom slip stream.

"Not sure how to describe, but if I had to venture a guest on how it feels. Like flying through a wormhole and warp 9.99." Said Avril, as she hoped that answered his question.

"Sounds incredible, can not wait to try out the QSD." Said Alexander, with a big grin on his face.

"It is incredible experience, I don't think you will have to wait long to try it out." Said Avril, thinking about the short time that the USS Juno, has been dispatched, she has used her QSD a few times.

"Like flying through a wormhole, you said. Wow!" He said with amazement in his voice. "When your escaping terminal velocity, is it like dropping out of warp, or simply coming out of a wormhole?" He asked, allowing his curiosity to get the best of him.

Avril motioned with her hands, "Like dropping out of warp, but thanks to the Corps of Engineers, you can barely feel the QSD to normal speed sector transition."

"Impressive, tell about how the drive handles..." He started off, noticing Avril was trying to cut him off.

"We can talk more about this over lunch, if you like. I only had a few moments to come down and meet ya." Said Avril, as she prepared to leave engineering.

Alexander smiled as he said, "Sure thing, 1300 mess hall? Heard Chef Dan is a great chef."
