Mission: [USS Ottawa] S1, E2: Empok Nor
Location: Transport Vessel
Timeline: 05/21/2394, 0800 Hrs

Peyton had just boarded the transport, he felt like he was being given, preferential treatment. A perk of being a Starfleet brat. His mother was a starship captain. He convinced his parents to allow him to stay with his sister on the USS Ottawa, an opportunity he was looking forward too. He had not seen his older since, she left for Starfleet Academy. He was only 12 at the time.

The transport was heading to Empok Nor, a Station in the Trivas System. It was an abandon station, that Obsidian Fleet also known as the Ninth Fleet, had jurisdiction over. Peyton was excited to be getting away, and seeing his big sister. Felt like he was going on a field trip.

From the moment that Peyton boarded the transport, he was greeted by an overly eager Ensign, trying to prove himself. Was acting like a lost puppy. Following Peyton's every move. And acting like his personal chaperone. Well in a sense this ensign was. But for the entire time, only for 8 hours. Peyton was not happy about the chaperone, but at the moment. There was not much, he could do about. Till the ship left port, he would have a tag along. To make sure he did not try to jump ship. Some youth had been known to do that. Peyton had seen several kids try in the past to sneak back onto the station.

He was brought to a room, filled with other children. Most of them of were young. He felt like he was placed in this room, to be watched. He felt that he did not need a babysitter, what he needed, was to get to the USS Ottawa. He wanted to meet up with his sister.

Sam boarded the transport. She had a small back pack on her back. She looked around the small star ship. She was on her way to Empok Nor, where she would meet up with her brother. She hadn't seen him in a while. He was her favorite and she was his. He had taken care of her and was a little protective over her. Which she didn't mind.

On board she was awaited by an enlisted officer. A petty officer or something. She wasn't really paying attention. She was looking around where ever she went. Even before she had reached the room where they kept the minors who were travelling alone, she had seen to get a complete picture of the transport. Normally she would be talkative, but just as much as she was talkative, she was able to concentrate on one task, and that was only if she wanted.

As she walked in to the room with all the other kids. She sighed. She took her back pack off and rummaged around in it and took out a padd. She started to tap on it looking intently on it.

Peyton noticed another teenager, in the room. He did not hesitate or think about, he walked over to her. "Hello, name is Peyton Patterson. What's yours?" Peyton asked with a sly smile on his face.

Sam looked up from her padd and looked Peyton up and down, examining him closely. "Let's see, 16 or 17 years old, overeager girl loving guy. Oh wait I am sorry, women loving guy." She grinned and continued, "Nice to meet you, my name is Samantha O'Donnaghue Meran, but you can call me Sam." She held out her hand from him to shake.

"You think you have me figured out huh?" Peyton asked in a playful tone. "Nice to meet you Sam." He said reaching out to shake her hand.

"Figured out? No, but you're body language is practically screaming at me, and I am also half betazoid. I am not telepathically, but emphatically. But still, even if you're not saying anything, I could still read you like a book," She said shaking his hand. "So are you also on your way to Empok Nor to join a relative? Let me guess it's Ottawa and it's a sibling."

"Do you want that to be true?" Playfully asked Peyton. Since she admitted she was empath, he tried to hide his emotions better from her. She busted him, but he was not done, trying to hit on her.

"It's not about what I want, it's about what is true. I only care about facts." Sam started to tap on the padd again and continued saying without looking up, "Trying to hide your emotions isn't going to help you either." She put the padd down again.

Carly entered the room not saying anything, though her expression showed her annoyance at the situation. The crew member who had been assigned to escort her placed her large duffel down next to her, it looked heavy. He looked at her for a second as if he were waiting for her to say something and she scoffed at him.

"Thanks?" she said, crossing her arms as she leaned back in her seat. She had chosen to be near the pair who seemed to be near her age at least they'd probably less annoying than the younger kids. She still had a slight bruise visible on her face but she didn't like makeup and so she hadn't bothered to cover it. Other than that her wounds from the incident when her mother was arrested had basically all healed other than the emotional ones of course.

Peyton noticed another teenage girl walked into the room, which caught his attention. Immediately. He looked to Sam and then at the unknown lady. "Come on Sam, lets say hi." Suggested Peyton, as he started to walk away.

Sam threw her bag over her shoulder and followed Peyton to the other teenage girl.

"Well hello, this is Sam. Watch out she's trouble. And I am Peyton." He said, trying to be funny with his introduction line to the unknown lady. He slowly checked her out. She was cute, and he noticed the bruise. He debated about asking her about it. But he assumed she would not want to talk about it.

Carly just gave him a disgusted look and looked at Peyton, "he thinks he's funny, huh?"

Sam nodded. "He seems to be that type of guy." She replied looking on her padd again for a moment.

"I'm adorable. You will learn to love me. Everyone needs a friend like me! You still have not given me your name." He said with a his warm and bubbly personality. He was wanted to show Carly that he was a fun person to be around, despite her ill mood.

"You think so, huh?" she said, rolling her eyes at him. She looked directly at Sam, "I'm Carly."

"Like he said, Sam, Samantha Jane O'Donnaghue Meran, but Sam will suffice," She replied and then she looked at Peytan and said, "So tell me, which one of us do you find more attractive? Cause you haven't stopped hitting on us ever since I got in." She grinned.

Carly couldn’t help but smirk a little.

"Ladies, why does that matter, there is plenty of me to go around. We all can be friends!" He said, as she put his hands around both of their shoulders. He still had a big grin on his face.

"Ok listen, Playton, Prayton, or what ever your name is. How about you get Carly and I a drink while the two of us, discuss your proposal?" She gently pushes his hand away and crossed her arms. She then made an eye move towards the replicator. "I would like a pineapple juice. What do you want, Carly?"

“I’m fine thanks,” Carly said. Besides she could send him back a second time if she changed her mind.

Once Peyton was gone she looked to Carly. "Look, I just met him myself, that guy is in serious trouble if he thinks he can mess with me. Also I don't know about you, but I am not all together impressed by this guy," She said with a toned down voice.

“I’m not saying you are. I’m just saying I’m not,” Carly said.

"Very good, you seem not altogether worried about him either. You must have someone that is protective over you as well. It must be someone of great power and the reason you are on this ship," She said as she tapped some things in her padd and smiled. "Don't worry, Carly, I can't read your mind, like my mother does. I can deduce some things from your attitude, body language and as an empath I can read your emotions as well. Also that bruised eye tells me, you're not afraid to confront your problems and you are careless, cause if you did care you would cover it up, but you didn't. Ergo, you don't care." She smiled. "Which all tells me, you are a troublemaker like me. Except maybe in a different way like me, but let's be honest. We just want fun, right?"

"Peyton, you have a call." Called out a security officer, as he walked into the room. Peyton left with the man. He was not sure, who would be calling him at this stage.

Carly looked toward the direction the voice came and watched Peyton leave the room. She looked back at Sam and shrugged, "maybe that will keep him busy." Carly had to go back and reprocess all that Sam had said it included a lot of assumption and while she wasn't exactly wrong she wasn't comfortable enough to just agree either.

"i wouldn't say that I'm a troublemaker but it certainly seems to find me," she said, sounding bothered by the statement. "I also don't really have anyone... I'm pretty much alone for now."

"You're right, it's only fun when you don't get caught." Sam grinned. "Anyways. I am alone for now as well. Parents are going for a little deep space exploration and they don't want me around. So I am on my way to my brother, Joseph. And fortune has it we're on the same transport." She motioned to the door. "And Playton. Let's not be to hard on him, he is probably not here on his own accord either."

10 Minutes Later.

Peyton wasted little time with the call, he was back in a few moments later. He walked over to the two ladies, and smiled in their general direction. "Well, that was fun." Peyton declared in an excited tone. He handed Sam a pineapple drink, and handed a cranberry juice to Carly. He knew she did not ask for it, but he did not want Sam and him to the two only two with a drink in their hand. "What have I missed?"

"Not much," said Sam, "Like I said, we were talking about you. So, Peyton, was it? Where are you heading?" She would lie if she said she wasn't the least bit curious. They were all heading the same way, but she was boarding the Ottawa when she arrived.

"Looks like we will be shipmates, me too. My Sister is an Engineer. Will be staying with her." Said Peyton, as he grinned with a big smile on his face. He then looked to Carly. "How about you, beautiful?" Asked Peyton, as he waited for Carly to say something.

"Oh, is that so?" Asked Sam. "How do you know we are going to be shipmates? That would mean you are boarding the same ship as me. Which is the USS Ottawa for me. And unless you read minds or have been rummaging trough my things you wouldn't have known that. I at least haven't mentioned it." She shrugged and continued. "I'll be staying with my brother on the Ottawa. I believe he is in flight control."

"My Momma told me a few minutes ago, its why I left. She told me to keep you company. Apparently you have a reputation being an O'Donnaghue girl. Not sure what that means, but can not wait to find out." He said with a big smirk on his face. "Mom did not say what ship, you would be going on." Said Peyton as he looked to Carly.

Carly just watched the two talk back and forth apparently she'd not have either of them to talk to when she got to the Juno. She lifted the glass of the red juice to her nose and smelled it a little smile appeared on her face and she sipped it. She actually liked the juice a lot and so it was a nice surprise.

"Well, you boarding the Ottawa with us?" Asked Peyton, hoping Carly would answer his direct question. He gave her his award winning cheesy smile.

"Nope, I'm going to the Juno," she said, with a shrug. "It would have been nice to know I have people around my age aboard the ship though."
