Mission:
[USS Ottawa] S1, E3: The True Way
Location: Risa Beach Resort
Timeline: 05/30/2394, 2100 Hours
Emily was looking for her brother, she told him to meet up with her at 2000 hours. He was late. She was focusing on looking for his face, that she practically ran into Gabriel Sharpe, her commanding officer. She felt instantly embarrassed, she looked up and almost panicked. "I am so sorry sir, I did not mean to run into you." She said, as her face was getting blush red.
Gabe looked down at Emily, giving her a friendly smile. "Relax Emily, there's no rank on Risa." He said. He was going to make a comment about uniform then decided against it considering he was walking around with his shirt open. "Call me Gabe."
He moved back out of her way and gave her a little space. "How are ya findin' things on Risa thus far?"
"Its warm, went to engineering, for my duty shift, and was looking for my brother, he was suppose to be back on the Ottawa at 2000 Hours. My guess he is having the time of his life. Sensors placed him in this area." She said as she scanned for Peyton with her eyes. She really did not answer Gabe's question, and her uniform was a bad choice to wear down to Risa. But she was slightly annoyed that he missed curfew.
"I've not seen him, but then I've not gone very far, do you need a hand looking for him?" He asked, he still had a few things to work out, so it wasn't too much trouble, he'd just multitask.
"Appreciate the offer sir, my guess he is near the promenade or dance floor. Where do we want to look first?" Asked Emily, trying to think. If she was Peyton, where would she go?
He didn't really need to think about it for too long. "Sixteen year old boy?... Dance Floor." He said, smiling. He'd been sixteen once, though it seemed so long ago. "At that age, a choice between shopping and dancing with attractive young ladies, nobody thinks of shopping."
"Let's go to the dance floor." She said, feeling a little strange saying that. She wanted to correct herself and say to find her brother, but she did not want to make this anymore awkward, than it needed to be.
"Okay, Dance Floors this way." Gabe said, pointing off to the left, "I remember passing it on my way to the bar earlier when I met Dom."
The pair headed off towards the dance floor. "I'd suggest getting him a Commbadge for next time, it'd be easier to track him at least." Gabe added as they neared the Dance floor.
"Yes it would sir, I will talk to the Quartermaster and the Captain about getting him a badge sir." Emily said, feeling a little dumb for not thinking of that sooner. She had been so focused on trying to please her mentor, her hero, it slipped her mind completely.
"The trick then of course is making sure he doesn't 'forget' it. I used to spend hours crawling around the Harrison's Jefferies tubes after 'forgetting' my Commbadge. Unsurprisingly I was a little bugger when I was a kid. I'd take a PADD and sit in those tubes just reading." Gabe replied, He'd spent a lot of time reading as a child.
"Alright lets try the dance floor," said Emily as she led the way to the dance floor, not sure if she would find him dancing, or off somewhere on the island. She was really annoyed, at his immature behavior. He had a curfew, and broke it. The scene starts to fade.
