[USS Juno] Back against the wall, Part 1

Mission: [USS Ottawa] S1, E3: The True Way
Location: USS Juno Bridge
Timeline: 06/02/2394, 1030 hours

The boarding parties of the enemy were contained, but the distraction did allow the Crescent time to call in re enforcements. The USS Juno, was finding herself a little out gunned. Harry looked at the main viewer, Mister Xalanth prepare a weapons lock on the port enemy warship.

The lizard nodded as his fingers got to work.

Harry looked over to Avril. "Miss Taylor prepare to alter course as soon as possible, I want to break free of orbit, give us a little more wiggle room to fight. When Xalanth targets the port ship, this will allow a momentary crack in enemy lines, punch through it. We do not need to be fighting the planets gravity well and that small task group." Said Harry, hoping she was up for the task.

"Programing an attack run, now Captain. Ready to initiate attack pattern beta on your command." Said Avril, as she eagerly awaited for the order. She hated being trapped with no way out. She tried to keep calm under the pressure. She was a little concerned over the fact, they were trapped.

"Mister Xalanth, you ready at tactical?" Harry asked, knowing they had to make every shot count. Xalanth was the best tactical officer they had. He knew that Xalanth was up for the task.

" Yes, sir. Weapons looked and loaded they won't know what hit them." The lizard replied with a grin on his face.

The USS Juno started to advance towards the port ship at full impulse power. Harry sat from his chair, waiting for Xalanth to open fire.

With a single button press the lizard opned fire.

The USS Juno was on a collision course with the port ship, the ploy had worked, they adjusted course, but not before the enemy opened fire. The Juno, took a few minor hits. She was still in the fight. Harry watched as Avril piloted the vessel and Xalanth returned fire.

Avril was rapidly altering the Juno's course, trying to make it harder to box in the big cruiser. The enemy had a few smaller ships, but she was able to keep the big ship off the Juno, for a little bit. She knew the captain wanted to break a whole in their lines, so they would be able to jump to warp, and escape this nightmare.

Avril first made a straight line for the enemy escort, then came along side of it, giving Xalanth several targets to hit. Avril began to plot her next set of coordinates.

" Eat this.." Xalnth muttered as several torpedoes sprang from there tubes and flew like balls of light right into the side of the enemny secort.

The plan had worked, the USS Juno was now clear of the planet's gravity well. The enemy was relentless, they continued to open fire. "Miss Taylor keep them off our port shields. Harry said, noticing they were taking the brunt of the attack.

"Aye Captain." Avril said, as she altered the Juno's attack vector. The Crescent now had a new shielfd to pound on. The enemy was very crafty and blocking their escape attempts. This was annoying Avril, but she was determined to break the Juno free.

"Mister Xalanth, do you see that weakness in their aft shields." Asked Harry, noticing that the ship that had been behind them chasing them, had transferred their shields forward.

" All ready on it sir." yelled the lizard from weapon control.

Avril wondered what the captain, had in mind. She had a feeling whatever it was, would be a little dangerous, and Avril would probably not like it.

"Let's take advantage of that." Said Harry. He grinned as he continued on. "Miss Taylor, prepare to slide slip our tail, on my order full reverse on the port thrusters and impulse engines." Ordered Harry. Pulling a side slip at full speed was a risky move, but Harry did not want the enemy to realize his mistake and adjust. The USS Juno continued to get hit with weapons fire.

"Aye Captain. Ready to proceed on your orders. I should warn you, the Juno will not stop on a dime, if the enemy does not move, we could impact with their shields. Said Avril, hoping the captain knew what he was doing. Would the risk be worth it?

"Proceed." Said Harry, as the Juno began to fly near the enemy vessels. The plan had worked they managed to break free of the enemy trap. But they were still be chased by the Crescent. The scene starts to fade.
