[USS Juno] Two friends and pool

Mission: [USS Shanghai] S1, E6: The Last Ride
Timeline: 06/02/2394, 1815 Hours

Avril wondered, what in the hell was she doing? Going to play pool with a man she barely knew. Would the crew gossip about them? She wondered it for a moment. Then she realized, she was over thinking it. It was okay for colleagues to play pool together in the recreation room. "So Alex, what was your last assignment?" Asked Avril as she was looking to make small talk, as they entered the recreation room, and walked over to a pool table.

"My last assignment was the USS Lenovo, I was the Assistant Chief Engineer. When I heard there was an opening on the USS Juno, I applied for the position. Glad I did." He said, referring to the fact that he was happy to meet her. "What about you?" Asked Alex.

"The academy, don't let the rank fool ya, only 22 years old. Not bad Full Lieutenant and only 22?" She said, thinking she was a little young to be a full lieutenant. But if James T. Kirk could go from Cadet to Captain, why couldn't she go from Lieutenant Junior Grade to Lieutenant in a short time.

"You shoot first." He said, as he went on to say. "I am 23 myself, just joined Starfleet a little earlier than you. But that's all the past. The important thing is, were both here and helping Captain Anderson, meet the Dragonian's soon. Can not wait to meet more of Xalanth's race. Hard to believe he is going to be our new first officer." Suggested Alex, as he set up the pool table.

"I meet his family, and know him very well, been on a few missions with him. He is very capable of being first officer. " Said Avril as she started the game by breaking the balls out of the triangle.

"Not what I mean't." Said Alex, hoping that Avril did not think he mean't anything negative about that. He went on to say. "Hard to believe starfleet is breaking up our crew, I just got to know you all. Glad your staying. I wish I could have known Captain Bers better." Said Alex, hoping that would clear up any confusion.

"A quite man, I know he once had a fling with Lieutenant Weston, you never met her. She left the Juno, when you arrived." Suggested Avril as she went on. "He was quite, but a good xo, always had a smile on his face, and projected calmness to us all. Great away team leader." Said Avril.

"Sounds like Xalanth, has some big shoes to fill." Pointed out Alex. Knocking in a stripped ball.

"He does, I know he is up to the challenge." Suggested Avril with a big grin, knocking in a solid ball.

Alex went to align up a shot and missed. "I have no doubt, what do you know about our new second officer?" Asked Alex, hoping that Avril knew something about her.

"Very polite, and efficient marine, I think she is dating the Captain. I am not certain, but the rumor mill is that he stayed in her quarters for a week not to long ago." Said Avril as she banked another shot, and lined up for another shot.

"You are very good at pool." Said Alex, as he walked over to Avril and tried to distract her. "How about you, anyone special?" He asked in a playful mood.

Avril went for the shot, and missed because of his remark. "No, and nice distraction." She said, thinking to herself, now it's on. She watched him get lined up for his shot. She stood directly across from him. Then she smiled as she leaned in, and softly said. "I do have my eye on someone." She waited till he went for the shot. "He works in engineering." She said, as she noticed he missed his shot.

"Is this how we are going to play?" He said in a teasing voice. He thought to himself its on, if she says yes.

"You started it." She said, as the scene starts to fade. With the two of them playing, and doing some light flirting.
