Mission:
[USS Saigon] Mission New Haven S1 E0
Location: Admiral Llewelyn's office/Starfleet HQ
Timeline: 06/01/2394 0900
Daniella was at Starfleet Headquarters. She had just turned in the Siberia. It was being pulled in. After 4 years with this ship, it was hard to say goodbye to it. But it was time for a new assignment and as a Starfleet officer you go where you're send.
She was standing in front of the office of Admiral Dillon Llewelyn. She never met the man, but she heard great things about him. Former commanding officer of the USS Arlington.
He was going to be the one to give her her next assignment. Her family was back on board the Siberia packing. She pressed the door chime.
"Enter" theAdmiral said, sipping at a coffee.
The door swished open and she walked in to a very big office. She couldn't imagine having desk job. She wasn't one for sitting still so long. And if the stories about the admiral were true, she couldn't imagine him behind a desk, and yet there he was.
"Hello, Admiral, Captain Daniella Willams. Reporting as odered." She said.
Dillon smiled as he turned around. "Ah, Captain Williams. So good of you to come. Coffee?" He offered
"Thank you, Admiral, I could use some." She replied.
Dillon handed her a mug with a Cheyenne class emblazoned on it. "My own brew. I hope you like it.
Daniella accepted the mug. "Oh, thank you, Admiral." She took a sip as she sat down with a satisfied sigh. "That's heavenly."
"Glad you like it." He sat at his desk and fiddled with a model Cheyenne class . "Ah, the good ol days." he said without thinking. "Did I just say that?" he said. "Oh well." he smiled.
"I wondered about that, Sir," Daniella said, "According your own logs you seen so much in your time as commanding officer, why did you ever traded that in for a desk job?"
Suddenly a small breeze went through the office. A woman appeared in a long white dress and raven black hair. Her skin was fair, and she looked Asian, most likely Chinese, but her sudden appearance suggested she was definitely not human. The tactical officer in her made Daniella immediately reach for her phaser. But her hand remained rested on it. Something held her back from drawing it. This person wasn't going to hurt them.
The woman smiled warmly at Daniella and then looked at Dillon. "Dillon, my old friend, it has been far too long." She said in her soft voice.
"It really has." He grinned, hugging the newcomer. "Captain. May I present Mother Rose. A good companion I met when I was a green CO. Mother Rose, Captain Daniella Williams."
Daniella's hand left her phaser. "It is an honor meeting your, Mother Rose," She said Politely as she bowed her head lightly in respect.
"As it is you, Captain Williams," Mother Rose said in a soft tone. She then turned to Dillan again. "It has been a while as I returned to Floria. My children are doing well. They are ready to venture out in the great unknown. But I am afraid they have a lot to learn, safe my son Elmash. He is so wise. And this is why I have come to see you, Dillan. I know if they go they will need some friends in the neighborhood. The Federation and Starfleet have taken in most of the area and it is my hope that my children and the Federation can become friends."
"I see no problems with that. Elmash has a good head on his...stem" Dillon said, laughing. He looked to mother rose. "Maybe a ship could swing by and say hello?" He offered.
"I would really like that, Dillon, but do you have ships available that can...as you say...swing by?" Mother Rose asked.
Daniella held up her hand. "Where is this planet? Is it on the way to Port Royale? If so, I could make a small detour. It's been a while since I done any diplomatic missions, but I would be honored."
"I'd appreciate it if you can, Captain. And it's definitely on the way. Not far from Earth at all." He smiled.
Daniella looked to Mother Rose. "Well, tell Elmash, to break out the good china. USS Saigon is coming over for a visit."
Mother Rose turned to Dillon. "Good china?"
"Show off our best" Dillon Smiled.
Mother Rose nodded. "Ah, well, Dillon, maybe you will join the Saigon? I believe you haven't been on our planet yet. I would feel better, knowing you were there."
"I'd love to" he grinned.
"I better prep your quarters, admiral," Daniella said with a grin. "Unless your taking your own ship." She was wondering what kind of ship the Admiral was flying these days.
"I'll hitch a ride with you if you'll have me." he grinned
Mother Rose stepped back. "I will let you discuss further. I will have to return to Floria and have my children prepare for your arrival." She smiled as she disappeared in the winds again.
Daniella looked to Dillon. "What is she? That smell? Sweet Roses and lavender?
"I like to think of her as a friend. Saved my but when I was starting out in the command business back in the day. Man I feel old." he laughed.
"I will have your quarters on the Saigon ready, admiral," She was unwilling to get him out his nostalgia, but there was still a lot to do. Getting on the new ship. The new crew.
"I'll be looking forward to it" Dillon said
