The shuttle ride was long and boring from the USS Ganges, her previous post. She was still in shock and confused as to why they sent here here and not to the Shanghai. Yet she understood the higher ups had their reasons. Now the question was could she leave her engineering life and accept the role of Executive Officer and not wish to return to engineering.

As the shuttle neared and finally docked with the Saigon, her heart began to beat faster as her nerves were beginning to get the best of her. Once the ramp lowered she stood up and exited the shuttle stopping briefly, “Permission to come aboard?”, she said to the Ensign standing there. He snapped to attention quickly, “ Permission granted Sir!”, he said.

Nodding, she headed for the turbolift and the bridge to report in. This was smaller to what she was used to but it was home. The lift was smooth in its journey to the bridge and soon she was there.

Stepping off the lift she approached the figure sitting in the center seat. “Captain...Commander J'Tagh Yesarina reporting for duty. I am to be your First Officer sir”, she said calmly, though hardly that was the case. She was shaking worse than a bowl of jello.

Daniella was reading a padd when she was approached by the Klingon hybrid. She turned around when she was spoken too. She looked to her and smiled to her. She got up from the chair. "Yes you are, I have been expecting you. Please come to my ready room." She pointed to the door leading to her ready room. She turned to her helm officer, "Ensign, you have the bridge." The young man nodded and got up.

She walked in to the ready room and offered the woman a seat. The office wasn't really that big as the ship wasn't so big. She took a seat behind her desk and looked to J'Tagh. "Thank you for coming, commander, I know you applied as Chief Engineer on the Shanghai, but your experience and time in starfleet warranted for a request to come here. I do have to report that our chief engineer is currently on sabbatical, so you will find that this small ship will as their first officer to take on the department." She waited to let that sink in with her new first office, before she would go to the informal bit.

Looking a bit perplexed by what the Captain said, "Yes it was quite a shock I must say. At one point I actually thought Starfleet made a big error, but when I was summoned to board the shuttle for here, it became evident that it was no joke", she said. "So...since....wait it just ooccured to me that you want me to....ah...double CEO as well?", she asked.

Daniella nodded. "We're quite a small ship and it's not every day I get such an experienced first officer on board. We all help where we can. I myself used to be a security officer before I climbed the ranks to captain. I would do great at tactical." She smiled. "And my husband is the security chief. We're also kind of a family ship, my husband and I brought our family with us." She continued explaining the nature of the ship.

"Ah, I see....so we have families as well on board. I am still single, but even I don't know what the futre holds even for me", she said chuckling. "I will double my duty with engineering when needed captain. I am a hybrid as you already know and I offer my limited Betazoid abilities to aid you on the bridge. Do not hesitate to use them sir", J'Tagh added.

"Please, captain or ma'am will do just fine, commander. And your abilities as a Betazoid will come most certainly in handy." She slid a pad to J'Tagh. "I would like for you to have this information. I met this entity in the Admiral's officer, he seemed familiar with her. She calls herself Mother Rose. There isn't much known about this creature. When she comes on board your first instinct is to reach for your weapon, at least I did, but I found out it was more training then actual instinct. She is no threat. I want my officers to know not to attack her. But I have a feeling, once you first meet her you will feel that as well. I don't need to tell you." She looked to the pad a moment. There is also some information on the pad about a race called the Florians. We will be going on a diplomatic mission for their home world after we met up on the starbase."

Taking the PADD, J'Tagh skimmed it briefly taking note of why the instinct of defense would be evident. "I am sure that I will have that same instinct but, reading this, I believe I can deal with it", she said.

Daniella smiled, "Perfect. Also, I will have a senior staff meeting where I will brief everyone about the new goals on the Task Force we're joining."

"Understood sir...one thing though, as your first officer, you will not use captain's prerogative as an excuse to go on away missions unless security goes with you. I can not allow you to put your life in jeapordy unless it is warranted. With all due respect sir, that part is my job and I will not lose you sir to death, as my life is forfeit and not yours", she said emphatically.

"I understand," Daniella said nodding. I have been where you were. I will only go on an away mission where it involves diplomatic missions. I will take a standard escort then."

"Very good captain. I will not fail you or this ship", she said. "If thete is nothing else I will retire for the moment", she added.

Daniella nodded. "This is all, Commander, dismissed!"
