Mission: [ USS Shanghai] S1E8 Light of the past.
Location: Briefing Room
Timeline: MD001 1600

Thorrin had placed most of the resources that he needed on standby. He thought it would probably be best if he, Sandy and Major Dilucca boarded the Crescent shuttle and piloted it themselves. As such he called them to the Briefing Room to plan.

Charlie walked in to the briefing room. "Commander Thorrin, I am here as requested." She saluted him. He really came over as a man that would follow protocol. As a marine she admired that.

Sandy was right behind Charlie, "Commander, Major, Charlie", she said saluting before she took a seat.

Charlie looked over to Sandy. "Captain, it's either Major or Charlie, not both. Also, when in formal situations, Major is the appropriate way to address me."

Thorrin smiled he liked protocol it kept emotions in check and thoughts organized. However, there was a time and a place for everything. "Now that the pleasantries are out of the way I think we can get down to business. We have an operation to plan. The basics of this is to take the shuttle to the rendezvous and do some reconn. However, that has some inherent problems. The first being how do we fool them into thinking that we are Cresent?"

"Well, I am no engineer but isn't there a way you can fool the sensors into believing that we are Cresent?", Sandy asked.

"As I was present with the first encounter of the Crescent, during our time on the Juno. Before the Crescent wrecked it," Charlie started, "Their ships don't emit light, or not that much at least. The windows are somehow darkened. From our observations on the young Crescent, Orson De, we deduced they don't seem to like bright light. Basically the Crescent have basically the same looks as humans, though they are much paler. Physically they are pretty much the same as humans. Only difference is they are a telepathic race. I would think their main method of communication is through telepathy. Fooling their sensors may not be that hard. But what we have learned from Orson is that if we are being contacted, which they surely will, we would be outed immediately."

"Being betazoid my self, wouldn't medical have some kind of neural blocker so we wouldn't be read? I mean there has to be a way of blocking our thoughts from being probed?", Sandy implied.

"Medical does, actually," Charlie replied. "What I mean is, wouldn't we be detected if they find out we're not actually Crescent, because they communicate telepathically?"

"Oh.....ok well yes that might present a problem unless.....let's say if we were not infront of them, maybe I could communicate....no it would be too confusing", Sandy said.

"We have one of their shuttles. The question is how do we conceal our life-signs until the last possible moment. We would not want them to scan the shuttle and see us on it until we are ready. Is there anything that we can do along those lines?" Thorrin asked as he leaned in on the table.

"Transporter arm bands! I remember reading that some where in history of the Enterprise that they used the arm bands to create a false bio reading to fool something or other. Couldn't engineering make the same changes on ours long enough to fool sensors?", Sandy said.

Times like this is when Thorrin was glad that he came up through the ranks from ship's operations. "Yes that is correct, I will send a message to Engineering to see if they can get that done. The next question would be how far do we want to take this reconnaissance. Do we go as far as destroying their vessel?" If one paid attention, one would see that Thorrin was rather keen to the idea of destroying the Crescent.

"Glad I could help. But really, we need to see how that baby works. Then destroy it?", Sandy asked.

"It would be quite simple to sneak behind their lines, download the entire data-bank and then destroy it. I think we could even get that done with just the three of us and the Crescent shuttle." Thorrin replied.

"I would enjoy getting out on a brawl with the Crescent, lets try to be careful though, none the less," Suggested Charlie. She looked to the three of them. "Well with a little make up, I think we could fool them yes."

"Right then if there is no objection we will meet with the Doc for our new faces right after the Captain approves of the mission specs. I think conservatively we can be nacelles up in about three hours. Any questions?" Thorrin replied.

"Agreed. Do you need any of my people airborne?", Sandy asked.

"I would say let's keep your fighters on standby and launch ready status. If they are out and about that might tip our hand before we are ready. We do not want our Crescent friends getting too antsy." Thorrin replied.

"Understood Cmdr. Thorrin. They will be ready to fly at a minutes notice", Sandy added.
