Mission: [Joint Mission]Happy ever after
Location: USS Shanghai Sickbay
Timeline: MD 001 - 1400

ON:

John looked around appreciatively at his new domain. It was much more spacious than the sickbay had been on the Wood, plus it had the latest upgrades as well. This Aventine-class ship was definitely a step up and a step in the right direction from his old ship.

He had been going over the list of his currently assigned staff. None of them were currently known to him as of yet but based on what he had seen in their personnel files they appeared to be extremely competent. One name that stood out was his new head nurse, Karen Walker. She had been Valedictorian of her Starfleet class and had finished second in her nursing school class. And not that it mattered as far as her competency in sickbay went, but according to her bio photo she wasn’t hard on the eyes either. Red hair and the biggest pair of...blue eyes...he’d ever seen. He made a mental note to call her in for a bit of meet-and-greet with her.

The new counselor he wasn’t so sure about. She was fresh out of the Academy and the Shanghai was her first assignment. She had graduated in the top ten percent of her class – barely - but she had no practical experience to speak of. In other words she was an untried and untested greenhorn. And something told him he was going to have to keep a close watch on her – at least at the beginning anyway.

As he continued to scan the roster of his departmental personnel, he suddenly saw a name he DID recognize: Roy Morris. Morris had been a Youngster at the Academy when Pearce was a Firstie and had also gone into Starfleet Medical as an orthopedic surgeon. From everything he had read in his file he had become a damn good one.

He knew that he would need to meet with all of them at some point, as well as meeting both the captain and the exec, but his next order of business would be to make sure that they had everything needed materiel-wise while they were still at the station.

And if all went well while he was back on the station, he just might find time to check out the night life there…
