Mission:
[ USS Shanghai] S1E8 Light of the past.
Location: USS Shanghai - Sickbay - CMO's Office
Timeline: MD 002 - 1100
ON:
After Major Dilucca had left sickbay, John had tried to keep himself busy. He had talked to various members of his medical and nursing staff, looked over their various personnel reports, and even read the report on the Orion female that currently resided in the isolation ward. That, along with what the major had told him, had given him an idea of what was going on with her, but it had also left him with more questions than answers.
He smiled when he thought about Major Dilucca. She had been pleasant to talk to - and easy to look at as well if he was honest about it. After treating her broken ankle he'd given her a physical at her request and while he almost hated to admit it to himself, he had found it difficult to keep his thoughts about her on a purely professional level. Before she had left, he had finally screwed up his courage and asked her out for dinner and she had accepted - and he supposed that's why he was finding it so difficult to keep his mind on things medical right now.
But why was this causing him to react the way he was? He and Peri had been divorced for several years and in that time he'd dated several others. Hell, there had even been a couple of fairly serious relationships during that time. So why was he feeling like a schoolboy about to have his first date? 'Better be careful, Pearce...' he thought to himself, '...or you'll find yourself sitting in the office of that new shrink just down the corridor."
He shook his head in an attempt to get his mind off Major Dilucca. Not that he really thought it would work but it was worth the attempt. Then suddenly he realized there was something he should do. Something that, in fact, he should have done the first day aboard. He needed to meet the captain...
