Mission: [USS Ottawa] Ending to a legend
Location: various
Timeline: MD001 2200

- K'Loth's quarters-

K'Loth woke in a cold sweat. The nightmare was all to real, to vivid. He even felt the heat of the fire that nearly consumed him. Looking at his arm to make sure it was not burned, all he saw was the scar that was left from the fight. This was not supposed to reoccur especially now, now that they were in the other universe. Why now did this suddenly manifest itself? Getting out of bed he donned his robe and padded down to the Counselor's quarter's and hit the chime.

-Ward's quarters-

Devin jumped and fell out of her bed at the sound of the chime going off. She hadn't been asleep very long but it was enough that the sudden chiming was enough to startle her awake and out of bed in an undignified fashion. She laughed softly as she got herself untangled from the blankets and grabbed a robe, after making sure she wasn't going to show off more than her thighs, feet and hands, face and neck, to the chime ringer, she walked to the doorway pulling her hair back into a messy ponytail, and looked up at her guest when the doorway opened. "Lieutenant K'loth, are you alright?" she asked and then motioned towards the chairs. "Come have a seat."

"Thank you Counselor for seeing me at this late hour. I don't know why now, here in this universe has this cropped up now," K'loth said as he sat down. He was visably shaken and slightly afraid to speak on it. "I....I feel like a coward at this point cause I have shown fear but......," he stopped taking a breath before starting again. "It was on the USS Arizona before she was destroyed that this happened. There was a fierce battle and we had sustained many hits. There were fires all over and there were dead crew lying about on the bridge. My console blew out and a bunch of pieces shattered hitting several of us and killing the captain and severly injuring the XO. I saw part of the bulk head headed for the XO who was already on the floor unconscious. I forgot about my safety and lunged thrpugh the captainflames of the ops console and grabbed the XO and hauled him out of the way but not before my uniform had caught fire. I burned my arm and suddenly I don't remember if the fire was comming straight for me or if I passed out in the middle of the fire. But I can tell you this Counselor fire is alive and has a mind of its own. I guess you can say that I have a fear of fire or being burned alive but all of these memories were locked away until now, here, in this time, and I don't know why!" he finished.

Devin nodded softly, "Fire is definitely a chaotic thing more so in space on ships or stations but there is nothing wrong with being afraid of it. It's a healthy response to something that we know in a base level." She got up and walked toward the replicator, "Would you like something to drink while we talk further?" She figured it might help him relax and get to the root of why the fear was suddenly surfacing now in this alternate reality.

"I don't normally but I will this time Bergamot tea hot, please...." K'Loth said. He only drank this type of tea when upset. He had learned that its soothing taste did have a calming effect on him. "I've been under fire from enemies, been through explosions, fire fights, so why now? Is there something here in this reality that has brought this forward or is it a premonition that something is going to happen soon?" he asked Lt. Ward.

Devin brought over the Bergamot tea and her own mug of hot chocolate after she handed his over she sat down, "Sometimes our dreams are coming because of stress, sometimes it's something else. I can only guess at the moment but if the dream happens to continue or it changes we will talk and try to find the root of it. As for premonitions some folks believe in them others say it is luck or something." She said softly before she took a small sip from her hot chocolate.

"Well, Klingon's are not known to be afraid or show fear but in this instance I'm not sure. What is it here that has me afraid. I can't see anything or hear anything that would warrant my fear," Ko'loth said slightly embarrassed.

Devin shook her head slightly, "Every living being has fears even logical Vulcans, just because your people generally put on a very convincing brave front doesn't mean they don't have fears. So is it the fire that bothers you more or is there a deeper meaning under the fear?"

K'Loth was slightly uncomfortable about opening up but......"Maybe I have been around humans too long and their ways are beginning to affect me.........something is deeper and it is feeding the fire. I am not used to telling anyone about this because being Klingon, we are supposed to be strong and accept death as a means to get into Sto-vo-Cor. Yet, I find myself now doubting that and fear has settled in as in fear of dying" he said, eyes lowering to the floor.

"Death is worth of fear and respect. Everyone has their own way to deal with how they ready for it. Best for now is to figure out if it is really the fire or the fear of death that is getting to you once we sort that out then we can figure out how to help you deal with what makes you feel the fear and to over come it or at least except it is there and still continue to go about your life." she said gently, Devin paused and added, "I am very scared of spiders. Long and short I got surrounded by them when I was young. They terrify me now." she said offering him a glimse of her fears.
