---Sickbay 2200---

Captain Daniella Williams tapped her combadge when the lights had turned on. "This is the captain, Yellow alert. Bridge report while I am heading to the main observation lounge. All Senior staff to the main observation lounge." As soon as she had spoken a violin started playing a sad theme.

---XO's Quarter---
Commander Reagan was trying to decide where to put some of his personal items which made the room more like a home when he heard the alert from the Captain. Giving a wave to the picture of his twin sister, Jasmine then he stepped out, to head for the bridge.

---Bridge 2200---

Lieutenant Alyssa Walkers just started her shift an hour prior before. Taking over from Gabriel. She got up from the centre chair when the lights when off and back on. She heard the captain's voice over the com and then the soft violin. She didn't know what that meant. "Ops!" She called to the ops station. The ensign at the ops station was just shrugging. As he seemed to try and desperately to get his systems to work.

She tapped her badge. "Captain, we are trying to figure that out. now, please standby, we hope to have a report when you arrive." She closed the com again. As the lights got lighter on the bridge, she then saw the new elements to the bridge. The cardboard of a cartoon had suddenly appeared next to the entrance to the captain's ready room. On the doors posters of cartoons. On one of the walls, it was scribbled in dark ink: "The creator lied to us".

Then the main screen turned on. Everyone turned to the screen. A dark screen appeared and then in yellow letters: "Chapter 1: Turn on the machine." It remained there.

The lift doors swished open as the first senior staff entered the bridge.

Reagan stepped out of the turbo lift and stared at the viewscreen, what was going on there? The music of the sad melody being played on a violin reminded him of something. However he didn't quite know what it was, the music reminded him of. And the cardboard cutout, adding more of a mystery to what was happening.

The Turbolift doors opened once again as Gabe stepped out, shaking his head.

"Well that bloody mouse thing is all over the place and now we have to listen to someone attempt to murder a violin." He said as he took in the bridge, "I see this place is just as sane and normal as everywhere else... Must be Thursday." He added jokingly, though his heart wasn't in it

---Sickbay---
Karri came in sickbay, more confused than ever. She was going her thing, going over duty rosters on the padd that she happened to have when the decor changed. Familiar Starfleet decor changed to pictures of cartoons. She didn't have to wait to go to the observation lounge as she was going to go anyway. As she headed that way began to hear the distinctive sound of a violin playing. "Well, that's new," she said as the doors opened.

The captain nodded. "We better hurry. I just hope the turbo lifts still work." She headed to the turbo lift. As the doors slide open they were greeted by a cartoon cut out of the seem figure again. Daniella took a deep breath, trying to hide the fact she was a bit startled by that.

---Main Observation lounge 2210---

Pierce continued, making his way to the Main Observation Lounge, taking another glance at what was happening, he had no clue as to what was going on, but he felt certain that the answers will come to light, hopefully.

Eoin had walked the length of the corridor from the hanger deck, Luckily the turbo lift was still working and he made it to the observation lounge. His phaser still up and ready for action "O'Donnaghue to Command Staff I've reached the main observation lounge over" he said as the blast door retracted and he walked in.

Pierce turned around from looking out the window, to see who had come in. "O'Donnaghue, I'm Commander Reagan, glad you arrived," he said first off. "What do you make of what's going on out there" nodding towards the bridge on the other side of the door of the ready room.

Eoin stepped in "ahh commander pierce I don't think we've met before," he said holding out his hand for the other to shake, Eoin was a little shaken up and this whole ordeal had him up the spout worrying, "You ask me it is pretty scary out their hanger deck is all sorts of weird all sorts f ink and old fashioned posters and I dread to think what's doing this," he said rubbing his face over.

"I've not a clue but hoping to find out soon," Pierce responded, shaking Eoin's hand. "And I've newly arrived at the ship. New to the ship but not new to the Captain, she and I knew each other from the academy," he stated.

Starting to think that someone else was needed as well and necessary for all of them was the Diplomatic Officer as well as a counselor. Pierce tapped on his comm badge. "Lieutenant Ward please come to Main Observation, It is urgent. And please be careful."

Devin had been in the Diplomatic office when the first summons had been called, by the time she second was applied she had made it to the lift and had seen more than one disturbing thing from the office to the lift, by the time she reached the Observation room, her face was pale, "Sorry for my late arrival." she said softly, looking around at those gathered and taking in the changes in the room here as well.

Wann walked in with Harry. He immediately noticed the highest-ranking officer. He hadn't met the new captain yet. With the return of the ship from the alternate universe, he had his hands full. He walked over to the commander immediately. "Commander, If it's alright with you, sir, I would like to run scans immediately. I have a hunch, but I need to scan the ship to confirm it."

Then the doors opened and the captain's Yeoman, Samantha O'Donnaghue walked in. She looked at the already gathered senior staff. As Yeoman, she would need to be here to assist the captain, but now she needed to be here more than ever. She took a deep breath and then said, "Senior Cadet, 4th year, Samantha O'Donnaghue reporting for duty. And..." She stopped. She bit her lip when she saw Eoin in the room talking to the first officer.

This was when Daniella walked in with the doctor. "Ah, cadet, good you're here too. Maybe you can get the senior staff some padds." Daniella walked to the conference table.

Samantha followed her and said, "Captain wait..."

Daniella stopped and turned around, "Yes, Cadet?"

Sam looked around to everyone present in the room. She could feel all eyes burn on her. She hadn't felt like this since the day she put hair dye in the showers of the Arlington's showers. But then she was doing it intentionally, to laugh. This was not intentional. Also, she had no idea how this could have happened. She swallowed the last of her pride away. "I...I don't know what happened, but I may have been partially...and unintentionally responsible for this." She put a lot of emphasis on the unintentionally part.

Daniella tilted her head a little sideways and looked intently at her yeoman. "Explain, cadet!"

"This..." Sam pointed to the new ship's decor. "This appeared after I closed down the holo program I was running. And these are all elements of that program I was running."

Robert sitting at the other end of the room just listening so far nodded. And just simply said, "Well, this does concur with the scans I made in engineering. Everything we see is being generated by the holo emitters."

Daniella looked to her husband and then looked to Gabe and Wann. "Well, can we not turn off the program?"

Wann looked over to the chief engineer and shook his head. He looked back to the captain. "Well, it is not as simple as simply ending the program. If everything is being controlled through the holo emitters...I don't even know what systems are affected, I have been unable to reach a console, so I don't have the full picture of the situation. I don't know if Commander Sharpe has more information. But unless I can do a full ship diagnostic I can't even begin. He turned over to Gabe. "Commander?"

Rubbing his temples, Gabe shook his head, "Oh I wish I did have more information I was running through the days engineering reports when this all happened. We can't use the consoles as there now being simulated, We can't simply end the program, as has already been pointed out and if this is indeed all part of a Holonovel, from what little information we have I can only see 2 possibilities. One, we try to end the program from the holodeck or two, I think we may have to... 'play along' and get to the end."

Pierce thought about what Gabe had said, "If that is the only way to get out of this we'll have to play along. And definitely need to be very careful. I've not read this particular Holonovel, but I'm willing to do what I can to help."

"I probably should sort out medkits while our gear is semi-familiar," Karri said. "Would hate to try for a tricorder and get a pipe or something."

Sam in the meantime had gone to the terminal in the room and started to hit some keys. She has always been the adventurous type. Usually, she didn't ask permission, she just did. And she figured talking back and forth. "Well, commander Sharpe, Lieutenant Tinyo. I can report those internal sensors, and I am also able to access the sensor logs. And we have been having paranormal energy residing in the holographic database. I am surprised you didn't catch up on that, it's been there....yep, I am correct since we were in the paranormal universe. I can tell though the amounts aren't that high, so I don't think it is lethal. But it is enough to elude you. Funny how that shows up now, huh." The girl turns around and just winks at the two engineers. "Anyways, from what I can tell as well the holodeck safeties are on as well. So I think it is safe to assume that we could play this out if we wanted to."

Daniella looked to Sam with growing eyes. "How...ok never mind. You played this holonovel before. How do we proceed?"

"Oh right, well Captain, this novel has 5 chapters in which you have to solve puzzles, and they get harder every chapter. Especially with the enemies, we have to deal with, not to mention I figure the Ink demon." Sam explained. "But let us get through this chapter by chapter. Chapter 1 is where the antagonist turns on the ink machine. We have to do this, there is no choice. We have to. As the commander stated, the warp core is off. So my guess is, whatever is doing this made the warp core our ink machine, So first we need to do the ritual." She looked around and the questioning eyes. "The ritual is placing a set of 6 items on these pedestals, and we probably have to find those too. Usually, the switch to turn on the machine is in the same room. So we have to find the items. Once we got the items and place them in the right place we will have to get the ink flowing. So we need to find the flow control valve. Once that is done we can turn on the ink machine with the switch. Now I know that everything in chapter 1 mostly took place on the same floor, so I assume the items, the pedestals, the switch and the valve are on the same deck. And my guess is it's on the main engineering deck."

Daniella sat down. "Do you even know how to stop talking? That's a lot of information for one chapter. I can only imagine what chapter 2 is like. Can we expect any enemies in this chapter?"

Sam shook her head. "No. Though since we are a big crew. I think we can accomplish the tasks more efficiently than the one player. I would suggest this is a great opportunity for Operation and Engineering to work together. I will go with one of the teams to assist them."

Daniella nodded. "Right, Lieutenant Tinyo, you will take an ops team to find that valve. While you commander Sharpe, take an engineering team to locate these pedestals, and once you have, find those items. Your team take miss O'Donnaghue with you. It seems communications work, so I think we can communicate with each other. Keep lines open so we can follow what you're doing. Commander Sharpe informs Lieutenant Tinyo when you have placed the items in their place. And Lieutenant Tinyo, once you turned that valve inform Commander Sharpe so he can turn that switch. Miss O'Donnaghue, what does the valve look like?"

"Oh, it's a simple pipe valve as seen in early 20th centuries Earth seafaring ships. They're wheels. And you can't miss it, cause the game has been obvious putting a sign above it that says flow control." Sam explained.

"Right," said Daniella, "Any questions?"

"Sir, If I may," Harry said looking around the room, "remind you that with what is going on, I recommend that two Security officer are appointed to each team," as he was looking at the big picture, he finished "and that as of now I am assigned as your bodyguard," as he knew the Captain didn't like it but it was for her own safety. as he hoped the Captain would understand his reasoning and precautions.

Daniella wasn't yet familiar with her new Chief Security officer. She calmly said, "Thank you for your input Lieutenant, but that is not how we are going to do it. For as far as Cadet O'Donnaghue has said, I don't feel it necessary to assign any security officers just yet. Lieutenant I want you to man the tactical station on the bridge and keep an eye on the outside of the ship for the duration of this chapter. Once the ritual is complete, we will meet again on the bridge. I think this is a task I can leave to my Operations and Engineering chief." From what she could tell the security chief was young and eager and she probably had to tone him down. She also added, "I used to be a security officer before I became a captain, I am sure whatever is coming I can handle."

Wann was leaning a bit on his hands. He wanted to say something to the security chief, but left it. He got up and then said, "Well I better get going then. Let me know when I have to turn a pressure valve."

"And you and I will be on the same team, Captain?" Pierce asked.

"Looks like it, Commander," Daniella nodded at her first officer. She then looked back to the room, any more questions?"

Nodding and doing his best not to let his irritation show Gabe leaned back in his seat. "So find the Mcguffin, find the mcguffin holder and perform some ritual... Must admit this isn't the way i planned to spend my day." He added with a slight sarcastic note. "But yeah We'll get right to it, sooner this mess is done the better."

"Oooh, I am so excited," Sam exclaimed enthusiastically. She looked to Gabe. "Commander, I know exactly what we need, so I will be of great use to you."

"Then let us begin, and the sooner we start the sooner we will be able to hopefully finish this game." Pierce remarked.

"Amen to that." Gabe said as he folded his arms across his chest.

Devin had listened to the summary and spoke up, "Where do you want me or do I head back to the Counseling department and wait for news?" She liked holo-deck games and all but this was different this was somehow effecting the whole ship and it was more disturbing than she was used too still, she hadn't seen any spiders so she was willing to help as best she could.

Alyssa turned to Daniella and said, "I would advice sending anyone to their post. Also lieutenant Ward is our diplomatic chief. We may need her to communicate to whomever or whatever is doing this." She looked to Samantha and then asked, "Cadet, tell me, will we encounter any humanoid like creatures in this game?"

Samantha was a little taken off by the question and then said, "It's possible we will encounter the ink demon Bendy at the end of this chapter. But the ink demon doesn't speak, from chapter 2 on we will get characters that are more communicative. But I don't know how much we can communicate with them. From what I know from the game, they seem to follow their own script. But this is not taking in to account how much has changed for our own ship version."

Daniella nodded and turned to Devin. "Lieutenant Ward, for the time being I would like you to remain here with the other senior staff. We may need your diplomatic abilities for this."

"Aye Captain," Devin replied she was more than happy to help out however she could, either from diplomatic or counseling since she worked in both departments.

Daniella then looked at Wann and Gabe. "Gentlemen, you have your orders. Let's see what this game has in store for us."

Wann nodded and then tapped his badge. "Wilson, Kamar, please meet me on deck 14 near turbolift 1." He said as he walked to the door. "I will explain everything when I get there."

"Understood, sir!" Came to voices in unison before Wann disappeared through the doors.

Shaking his head, Gabe stood up and started to make his way to the exit. As he passed one of the cardboard cut outs he stopped. He knocked the Mouse over and nodded when seconds later it reset to it's original starting postion

"...Oh of course they reset." he added with an aggravated sigh, "I need a holiday."
