Meeting A Doctor

Commander Reagan felt that the meeting with the Captain went well. It had been a rather nice surprise to find out the one he'd be serving under was a friend. Now to go to the next one in line meeting the crew. And the one he felt was important to meet next would be as Doctor Kerri. He knew quite well that a medical officer had with in his or her grasp the deciding factor on those who are in command, fit for duty, health wise. Therefore, best not to make a doctor go chasing a person down for medical.

He assumed that the doctor would be in the office but.. perhaps that was a mistake to assume such a thing. After all, crew members did have their own lives outside of work. He stepped inside, peering about, and caught the attention of a staff member. "Excuse me, is the doctor in?"

Karri just happened to be rounding the corner when she heard her name called. All she knew was that and she really wasn't paying any attention to who was talking. "Yo! Who wants me?" she said as she absentmindedly put a tricorder on a tray. She spun around and the first thing she saw was 3 pips. Her heart sort of sank. "Er..I mean how may I help you, sir?"

Pierce gave a bit of a smile, "Hi, I'm here for the usual medical protocol update for newly joining the ship. I'm Commander Reagan, the new XO for this ship. I figured I'd come and save you the worry of chasing me down to get that done. Where do you want me at?"

"Well, thank you for saving me the trouble!" Karri smiled. "Biobed 1 is free. Go ahead and make yourself comfortable, Commander." She said.


Pierce smiled, "Thank you." and promptly went to the indicated biobed and stretched out. "Nice, comfortable. Yup a good quality biobed." he quipped, turning his head towards the doctor. "I will make certain to give this my stamp of approval."

Karri smiled. "Ill definitely note that." She laughed as she grabbed a tricorder. She started to wave it over him, noting each reading. "According to this, you've had a pretty eventful life." She said

"You could say that I have." Pierce giving a slight laugh. "I've faced some challenges, but hey what doesn't kill you makes you stronger right? So maybe I am somewhat stronger than I was early on in my youth?"

Karri shrugged "Works for me!" She said. And I'm the same way. Started out in security after all."


Gave a nod, " And did you like it or well, you didn't stay with it as you are now an extraordinary doctor. What made you decide to become a doctor?"

"Dont know. It kinda just happened." she shrugged. "Reflecting on when I joined security. Get back at the people who destroyed our ship. Then after a while the gold changed to teal."

" I have known that to happen as life's experience tends to change a person." he sat up. "So, I have a clean bill of health and can be the XO?" he smiled, "After all, you do have the power to say, yay or nay."

"Seem good to me, Commander. You have the Karri seal of approval at least." she grinned.

Pierce laughed, "Oh good, you had me worried there for a rather long moment. And you have Commander Reagan's seal of approval as well." pointing at himself. "You have great bedside manners."

"Thanks a lot." Karri beamed


"Well I should be going, more things to do and people to see." Reagan flashing a smile. "Will probably be seeing you, and not when I am injured. I like getting to know the crew I work with." he said.

"Looking forward to it." Karri replied

With a nod Pierce left sick bay, with a smile.
