Lt. JG Janel James had been so engrossed in her work to the point of a serious case of tunnel vision. It wasn't until she had finished studying the blood samples that she looked up and realized that things were decidedly different in the lab. There were strange posters on the walls and there seemed to be some sort of dark fluid leaking under the doors.

This was disorienting as there wasn't supposed to be a door on the aft wall. And the door itself was not what would normally be seen on a starship. It was cartoonish in appearance for one, and it looked like it was made of wood. It wasn't until she started actually listening that she hear a strange music. She tapped her com badge, "Med Lab to the bridge, I am wondering just what is going on. Should I just remain here or try to leave. There seems to be some sort of black fluid in front of all access to the corridor."

Daniella was a little occupied, but realized they needed a doctor on standby. Karra seemed really off with the ink in her furr. She replied back to Janel, "Doctor James. This is Captain Williams. We will send you someone to help you out. Once you're on the bridge we will explain everything. Just hang in tight. Williams out."

Just as the communication ended a flash made two inky persons appear with Doctor James. One had a shape of a female and just gently swayed side to side. She giggled and said to the male ink person, "Porter, it looks like she is stuck." She sounded a bit childish.

"Ho ho," The male ink person, Porter, laughed cheerful. "It seems so, Heidi. But we are so rude, hello there, I am Porter, and this is Heidi. What is your name?" He asked friendly as he smiled warmly.

Janel jumped backwards forcing her back into a lab table at the sudden flash. She grunted in pain just as the two figures appeared in the lab. Her eyes opened wide as she looked between the two, whatever they were. "Where did you come from?" She asked as she moved further back along the table to keep her distance. "You don't belong here," she said nervously watching the creatures that seemed to be made of the same black fluid that was on the floor. "I want you to remove yourselves from the lab. Now!" Whatever was going on, it was definitely not anything she had ever experienced or even read about in any of the myriad of medical officer's journals she had read over the years.

At least she knew someone would be here to assist soon. But she still did not want these things any closer than they were at that moment. She tapped her Com badge again, "Medical Lab to Bridge, I have two intruders, unknown identity or species. Please respond!"

"This is Captain Williams, did you say that you have two intruders in the bridge? Hold on, let me get Cadet O'Donnaghue on the com. Cadet O'Donnaghu?"

Sam was still climbing the Jeffries tube. "Captain, How can I help?" She asked as she continued her way back to the bridge.

Daniella proceeded, "Yes, I got Doctor James, she is stuck in one of the labs. She says two intruders with her."

Sam stopped her climbing. "Did you say two intruders? Doctor, could you tell me what they look like?"

Janel responded to the open com, "Well, one is a male. He seems to be covered in some kind of black fluid, or he is made of it. He's got goggles on his head and seems to be carrying a rope. The other is a female with shoulder length ...hair. She keeps swaying back and forth. And they both have glowing eyes."

In the meantime, Porter was sighing, and Heidi was still swaying left to right, back and forth as she hummed a little tune. Sam listened to the description of the doctor and then heard Heidi in the background. "Doctor, you just described Lost ones to me, if this is really Chapter 2 of Bendy and the ink machine, there shouldn't be any lost ones. Not only that I recognize that humming. That's Heidi, then the other one must be Porter, Heidi and Porter don't appear in this game, they appear in a sequel game. Which means we are playing our own game. Doctor, Captain, I know this is probably against your better judgement, but trust me when I say, you can trust Heidi and Porter, perhaps it is a good idea to meet up at the bridge to discuss this further. Doctor James, ma'am, talk to them, it is known in the game Porter and Heidi help the player. Maybe they can help you get out of the lab. You may have to help them in return, but don't worry, it won't be anything against your oath as a medical doctor."

"I hope you are right about this," James said and faced the two figures. "Hello Porter, hello Heidi. My name is Janel, and yes, you are right. It would appear that I am stuck. Are you able to help me get to the bridge?"

Heidi stopped swaying and said, "Oh yes, I know how, I really do. Me and Porter are going to teach you something an everyone else will do it too." She shook excitedly. "Isn't that right, Porter?"

"He he," Giggled Porter, "Yes, Heidi. You are right. But doctor..." His tone changed a bit. "We have no time for games. You have no time for games, my dear." He walked over to Janel and took her hand in his hands. And then he laughed as he let her hand go. "Now...you can move like me. No need to help me. I am not stuck."

As Porter stepped away Heidi moved closer to Janel as well and put her hand on the doctor's shoulder. "Normally I would want to play hide and seek. But I am sad, there is no time. If you want to go to the bridge, you can use the linker over...." she then pointed behind the doctor and against the wall was an ink well. "...there. And it links to the bridge. Just stand on it. It will act like a transporter. You and your friends can use all the linkers on the ship. I don't know which link to which, you will have to find out for yourself, but this one, links to the bridge. If we meet again, Janel, promise me you play hide and seek with me?"

Janel blinked at both of them, "Umm, I promise Heidi, and thank you. You too Porter. I appreciate the help." She smiled at the two and moved over to the ink well. Just before she stood on it she stopped and looked back, "I am surprised you know about transporters. I did not expect that. " She stepped onto the inkwell.

"We maybe just be programs, images produced by mere photons," came the soft but high pitched, yet childish voice of Heidi, "but your ship knows things and we know it too. We can't stop the program, but we can help you win the game. Reset the cycle. So your ship can be released. There are more of us along the way. And there are also servants of the demon. Cadet O'Donnaghue can spot the different, but this game is not as she knows it. You need all the help you can get. "

"Good bye, doctor, don't get stuck again." Porter called cheerful at her as she disappeared in the transporter beam.

The lab disappeared from her view as she lifted a hand to wave to the two... guests. Janel found herself on the bridge a mere 2.5 seconds later and glanced around, "That was very... odd!" She stepped forward towards the captain. "I wonder what he meant by 'travelling like him' and what Heidi said, that everyone could use the 'linkers'?"

"Welcome, Doctor, glad you could join us." Daniella said. "Those are some interesting questions, Cadet O'Donnaghue is almost here. She will hopefully be able to answer all those questions."
