Mission: [USS Ottawa]Bendy and the Dark Star Trek
Location: SB New Haven
Timeline: MD002 1230 hrs

Colonel Ellie Ijaan was walking over to the transporter room of the Starbase when she was met up by her brother John. As he had nothing to do, he walked with her to catch up with her as it has been a while since their last meeting since they had spoken.

"Hey Ellie, it's been a while, where are you heading? And is it alright if I join you?" John asked he just walked next to her.

Ellie looked at her brother and then just nodded. "Yea sure, why not? I am on my way to meet up with a new crew member for the Ottawa. The ship had already left and Star Fleet decided to do a last-minute transfer. Of course, there were no Yeomen available at the moment, as I send them all to a short shore leave on the service and I didn't have the heart to call them back. Also, this one is a marine, so I thought, why not go meet them ourselves." She continued walking.

John nodded. "That is very considered of you."

Ellie nodded. "Mhm." She then held up a pad. "The recruit we are meeting is 1st Lieutenant Ellais Walker. He is supposedly a new security officer. A Betazoid."

John frowned. "It's been a long time since we had a Betazoid in the marine corp. They usually don't join marines as it is hard to use their mental prowess in stress full situations."

"Well, maybe he has overcome that. I for one am excited to get more Betazpoids out here, with the lingering threat of the Crescent we need all the help we can get."

The two of them stopped near the transporters and nodded to the transporter chief. "Let him on board," Ellie ordered.

The door of the transporter opens and a man in yellow uniform steps out. Holding his hat in his hand, turns towards his superiors and salutes them.

Ellie and John Saluted back. "Welcome on board, Lieutenant. I am Colonel Ijaan, Commanding Officer of Star-Base New Haven and this is Colonel John Sheppard, Task Force Combat director and commander of the 28th Combat Division. You have been assigned to the USS Ottawa, but they have just gone out for an important mission. We expect them to be back in a few days. So for the time being you will be bunking here, Lieutenant. As you are commissioned a fleet assignment we will assign you quarters on the Star-Base. Do you have any questions, Lieutenant?" Ellie asked.

*putting his hand down* "I have no questions, Sir" Ellais Replied.

"Very good," Ellie stated, "I will now escort you to your quarters and give you a little tour. You are also allowed to visit the planet. We have a beautiful colony down there with the city of New Rotterdam. And the indigent people allow visits to their forests and the mainland. Their forests are particularly great for hunting. There is a hunting cabin near the city you can use if you want."

"No thanks, Sir," Ellais replied, "I am not interested in hunting stuff. I would rather suit myself in the Training Stations and the armory"

"Ah, A weapon man," John said. "Well you are not cleared to use the Base's Armory, since you don't have the security clearance, but you can get a holo-suite to browse and use all weapons we have currently. I could join you if you like that, Lieutenant."

"It's your base, Commander, you can join whenever you want," Ellais said.

John raised an eyebrow and then said, "That's, Colonel to you, Lieutenant, and it is her base," he points to Ellie. "And since you are on a little leave because you have to wait for the Ottawa, you do have some say who you enjoy your off time with," He explained.

"I understand Sir," Ellais replied, "But, you still outrank me in every possible way. So, you have complete authority even after what I say. And also, apologies for mistaking your rank."

John waived the apology away, "It's fine, lieutenant. I see you haven't been out of the field much yet. Your leave time is your private time, even though I can order you out of your free time if I wanted to, I do have no authority over how you spend your private time. " Looks to Ellie. "I got this, you must have a ton of paperwork."

Ellie nodded and left the two men to themselves.

John then turned back to the young Lieutenant. "Let's go for a drink. Dan and Nidria's is a very good place to go. Dan is a Vulcan. He is very nice and he makes a mean burger if you ask him. Nidria is an adopted daughter of Dan, and she is a joined trill. She is very friendly and knows her liquor."

"Well Sir, to be honest, I am not into drinking. But I am pretty hungry tho." Ellais replied. "Also, pardon me sir, but are you and Colonel Ellie related."

John laughed and said, "Ah you noticed that, didn't you? Yes, Colonel Ijaan is my sister. She changed her name after she got married. Lucky girl. Anyways, let's get you some food then. Dan has a great menu. You won't be leaving hungry."

"Yes Sir," Ellais replied as he follows Colonel John.

John took them to a turbo lift and then to the civilian area. It wasn't too busy this time around, due to the war starting. Most civilians were evacuated. A few remained to help on the base and the colony. He took the young lieutenant to Dan and Nidria's lounge. Not many people were there. He waved to the Kitchen, "Dan, you got some good stuff for us?"

A smiling pointy-eared Vulcan walked out of the kitchen. "John, I only serve my customer's good stuff, you know that." He laughs and points the two marines to a table. "So what can I get you."

John sat down and said, "I like a burger and an ale. And you Lieutenant?"

"Just a Burger and some Coffee" Ellais replied as he sat on the opposite side of the table.

"Coming right up," said Dan as he walked back to the kitchen and disappeared.

A few moments later a young lady with spots on her face and running down her neck came out with a tray of their drinks and put them down. "Hello, welcome to Dan and Nidria's lounge, I am Nidria Rilog." She held out her hand to the lieutenant. "You must be new here. How do you like your stay at the starbase?"

*Startled* “Wow! Hello, I am Lt. Ellais, nice to meet you.” *shakes hands with her* “Actually this is my first time aboard this Star Base, so I am not accustomed to the staying methods.”

Nidria giggled. “You are a bit silly. I like that. Don’t worry, you will fit right in. There are other Betazoids like you in the fleet. And I am sure you will like it here.”

“....thanks” Ellais replied.

“that smile….it’s….just like hers….” Ellais thinks.

That’s when Dan walked out with the food and placed the plates on the table. “Well, I hope you enjoy your meals.” He said with a smile. He then gestured to Nidria to leave the two marines to eat.


John watches the young lieutenant stare at Nidria. “Hey, Lieutenant, Earth to Lieutenant Walker, your burger is getting cold.” He nudged the Lieutenant to get his attention.

“y-yea sorry” Ellais replies as he turns his gaze back to the food and starts eating.

“Hey no worries,” John said. “Where were you?” He took a bite from his burger and then took up his ale.

“Oh it’s nothing, just…..got reminded of someone,” Ellais replies as he takes a sip of his coffee.

John smiled as he took a sip from his ale. “You are an interesting man, Walker!”

“Thank you Sir” Ellais replied.
“Don’t mention it,” John continued putting his glass down. “So how did you end up here in this corner of the Galaxy?”

“Just wanna explore new territories and get back in combat again” Ellais replied.

“Commendable, but why on Earth here? We’re at war. And don’t get me wrong, we could use all the manpower, but surely you would have done better in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. Or did the war interest you?” John asked curiously.

“I had been a Weapon Specialist of security fleets in Alpha quadrant for a while”, Ellais replied “I just wanna gain more experience and get back in combat.”

“Well, welcome to our neck of the woods then, Lieutenant. Do you have any other hobbies other than weapons?” John continued asking.

“Well, unless you consider spacewalking a hobby, no sir, I don’t have any other hobbies” Ellais replied.

“I do have 300-350 hrs of spacewalk though,” Ellais says as he finishes eating.

“Well that’s a lot for a marine, I am more of a forest walker. I love to take walks in the forest,” John said. “And I love to hunt. But more the thrill than actually bringing home any game.”

"Yea that was my off time, plus I often go with my father on his station," Ellais replied.

"Your father commanded a station? which one?" John asked curious as he then took another bite from his burger.

"Bestok Outpost Station in Alpha Quadrant" Ellais Replied, "My father is an XO. Colonel Trevor Xavier Walker. The station is also where I was born."

John nodded and said, "Ah yes, I read about that in some mission reports. Never been there myself. It was before I was stationed here."

"Yea, it's a pretty popular place near the Betazoid home planet" Ellais Replied

John nods. "Well, if you ever want to take a walk outside the base, but sure to reserve your EVA suit in time with Colonel Ijaan." He grinned. The planet does look nice from the base."

"Alright I will talk to ma'am later," Ellais says as he gets up "Thanks for the meal, Sir."

"Do you need to go somewhere, Lieutenant?" John asked as he washed away the last part of his burger with his ale. He didn't say it harshly, he was just curious why he wanted to leave so fast.

"Just wanna stroll sometime after eating" Ellais replies.

"Alright then, have a nice walk." John nodded to the Lieutenant. "Thank you for joining me."

"You too Colonel" Ellais replies as he walks out of the restraurant.
