Mission:
[USS Shanghai] S1E2: Encounter in the Abyss
Location: Deep Space Nine - Promenade
Timeline: MD +3, 1610 Hours
Avril was completing her duties on the bridge. She had been on the USS Juno. She had finally started to adjust to life on the ship, when they arrived at Deep Space Nine. She pulled the ship out of quantum slipstream drive and piloted the ship to upper plyon 3. That was a couple of hours ago, she recalled the captain being ordered to meet with Captain Ro Laren as soon as possible.
Avril was not sure why, but it was honestly none of her business. The Captain was beamed off the ship, she had to go through the airlock with the rest of the crew. She noticed a lot of the senior staff and a few enlisted personal were ready to disembark. Everyone had the same idea.
She could not help but laugh a little. They had only been on the ship for three days, and everyone was ready to get off the ship. This made her laugh. She continued to follow the sea of people leaving the ship, she wanted to explore the station. She had heard so much about this station. It was a iconic landmark in starfleet history. The Dominion War war front headquarters, was here on DS9. The treaty that ended the war was here.
Avril wanted to walk the decks of the station. She finally had her chance, she left the Juno. She headed to the promenade. She heard a lot of the great stories, took place on the promenade. She was hoping for a little adventure for herself. There was a lot of personal on the promenade, not just from her ship, but from ships and station crew. The promenade was bursting full of life.
Avril was trying to soak it all in.She slowly looked around as she walked, making sure not to run into anyone. She strolled through the corridors of the promenade, she noticed a lot of side chatter conversations. The rumors where true, and she loved it. DS9 had a fun enviroment.
Avril allowed the atomosphere adsorb her. She was very impressed with the station. The stories so far were true, and she loved it. "Impressive," she called out, as she started to head to quarks. But decided maybe she should do a little light shopping instead, there ewas several shops in the promenade. To bad Garak's was now closed.
She was not sure what to do when a voice called out to her. "You seem to be lost." Said a male voice, standing behind her. Avril was a little startled, by him.
Avril felt a little embrassed thinking she was in his way. "I'm sorry, I did not mean to be in your way," she said, as she walked over to the side and out of the main corridor, to allow others to pass by.
He followed her, with a grin on his face. "Lieutenant Taio, of the
Avril was not sure, why he was trying to make conversation with her, but she did not want to be rude. "Lieutenant Avril Taylor, of the Juno." She said, as she shook his hand, noticing he was wearing a gold uniform.
"The Juno, your very lucky." He suggested, with a grin.
Avril was not sure what he meant by that. She just grinned. Wondering how to get ride of the guy. She was getting the impression that he maybe trying to hit on her. She was straight out of the academy and did not want to be rude, but she was still trying to adapt to starfleet, and did not want to start a fling on her first assignment, and did not want to look at a long distance relationship either.
She did not want to be rude, but she needed to make her intentions clear, but in a nice way. She first thought, better address his comment. "How so?" She asked, waiting for some clever cheesy romantic line.
"Brand new and state of the art, I am on an older Ronin Class starship, let me introduce you to her chief operations officer, I am always fixing something on the Falcon," he suggested. Feeling a little envious of her.
"Nice, I just fly the Juno," she said with a grin. She started to walk, being nice, she motioned for him to follow. She wondered, what in the hell was she doing. She did not want a fling, she needed to make her intentions very clear.
Taio saw her 'follow me' lead, and decided to follow her. Why not. He had nothing else going on. Well not for a few hours anyways. "How long is the Juno visiting DS9?" Taio asked.
Avril was not sure, she wanted to answer that question. But maybe if he knew, he would not try to start anything. "just for the night." She said as they started to walk down the corridors of the promenade.
