[USS Juno] Marine encounter

Mission: [USS Shanghai] S1E2: Encounter in the Abyss
Location: XO's office
Timeline: 05/13/2394 @1400 Hours

Charlena Dilucca stood before the office of commander Bers. She straightened her uniform touched her hair a bit to check it and then hit the door chime.

Bers sipped at a coffee he had and closed down his desk console. He looked towards the door. "Enter!" he said, smiling.

Charlie walked in to the office and looked around and then walked up to the desk. She put her orders on his desk and then stood in formation with her hands behind her back as she said, "Captain Charlena Dilucca, reporting for duty, sir!"


"Welcome to the Juno, Captain." he said, accepting the orders. "At ease, Captain." he added as he read. "Feel free to take a seat if you want to."

"Thank you, sir," said Charlie, she sat down on one of the chairs in the room.

"Can I get you anything to drink?" he asked, putting down the padd. "Impressive record by the way." he smiled. He sent a message for the CO and Xalanth that the Marines have landed.

"Thank you commander, I would like a glass of water." She didn't say anything about meeting the captain. She would just wait for them to arrive. She took the glass of water and took a sip of it.

Harry made his way down to the first officer's quarters. Typically he would not meet up with a junior department head, but Marine Captain Dilucca was an expectation, because she was in command of 128 marines on the USS Juno. The marines fell under the command of Lieutenant Xalanth. He almost tapped on the door intercom. And noticed Xalanth arriving. "Afternoon Lieutenant," said Harry, looking up a little to Xalanth. His dragonian was a little scary, but Harry was getting use to his presence.

The dragonian nodded when he saw Harry his eyes still reading over the padd with his idea. " Hello sir." He said politely as he pocketed the padd.

"Let's get this party started," he said, an old earth reference. He tapped on the intercom button.

"Excuse me." he said to his quest. "Bers here." he said, pressing his comm. He buzzed the CO and CSTO in. "It's open, Captain."

Harry walked in with Xalanth, and Harry made a v line for the couch in the first officer's ready room. He took a seat, resting one arm on the sofa, and crossing his legs in a four like pattern, he placed his left leg under his right leg which made the four like pattern. He never could understand how men could scissor cross their legs, and not hurt themselves. Seemed in-natural to him. He looked to Bervag.

The lizard followed Harry into the room talking the next seat next to him on the couch. He was eager to meet the marine commander she would be working with him.

Bervag nodded to both. "Captain Dilucca. Allow me to introduce our CO, Commander Anderson. And our Chief of all things security and tactical Lieutenant Xalanth."

Charlie got up from her chair and stood in formation. "Sirs!" She announced.

"It's nice to meet you." Said Harry, from her left side. Harry noticed there was no chairs near his desk. A strange approach but not unheard of. Back when he was a second officer, he remembered his first officer having a similar set up. This was not a tradition he practiced. But luckily there was chair near the door way, that she was able to sit in.

Harry could not help but check out her physique, he kept he thoughts to himself. But he thought to himself, that she was very attractive. He wondered was he cursed with so many beautiful woman on his ship. But her attitude was slightly different. Confident, a trait he liked.

"Likewise, captain." She looked over to the Dragonian who was to be her CO. She heard a lot about him and was eager to learn from him. "Lieutenant Xalanth, sir, I am honored to be in your service, and I hope to learn from your experience." She spoke out as she wasn't custom to keep praise to herself. "I hope I can meet up to your expectations as well, sir!"

" I'm sure you will captain Dilucca.You have a good record and i'm sure we can keep this ship safe. I look forward to tomorrow training exercises to see what you can do." The reptile replied politely as he stood up offering his hand.

Charlie accepted the hand. "Thank you, sir, I am looking forward to it myself."

"We need your teams services soon, Captain." said Harry trying to focus on her face at first, but it was hard. He continued on, "Are you familiar with combat drone helmet A2, Mark 3 version, captain?" Asked Harry, as he looked at the data padd in his hands and brought up the specs, they displayed behind Bervag.

The helmets were designed to block psionic attacks. They were not very comfortable and really forced the user to relay on the camera built into the helmets to get standard vision. The helmet had a od a limited view without the camera support.

Charlie put her hands behind her back again. "Yes," She replied. "Are we expecting trouble, sir?" She wasn't looking forward to the prospect, but she was a professional and hid her feelings well. Also she and her team had many training hours with the helmets, taking that out for a run wouldn't be bad for them.

Harry switched to camera feeds from the attack on New Bajor. "It appears bajoran soliders were confused on enemy locations, intelligence believes this unknown race could have psionic abilities. We should be prepared for anything. Mister Xalanth is taking lead on tactical operations, he will notify your team if your going in. I would suggest preparing nonetheless." Said Harry.

"Of course, Captain, I will coördinate my efforts with the lieutenant." Said Charlie.

"That's all I have." Said Harry as he looked to Bervag.

"Better than anything I had, sir." he said.
