Mission:
[USS Ottawa] S1, E3: The True Way
Location: Risa Resort
Timeline: 05/31/2394, 1300 Hours
Drakord was bemused when his reassignment orders came through and the rendezvous was Risa, but he saw little point in making any further enquiry and boarded the next vessel heading to Risa. He reamined in Uniform even after he had arrived at the Resort where the majority of the crew were staying. From his point of view he was still on active duty until informed otherwise by a superior. The climate on Risa was quite hospitable, not at all what he was use to it but reminded him of home. The heat had little to no affect on him, after all a Klingon is used to more tropical climates than some other species might be.
Finding the XO in the Resort was going to be quite a challenge however as he was not yet connected to the USS Ottawa's comm system and wouldn't be able to get the computer to locate him. His first stop was the Resort Reception where he asked a young lady on the other side of the counter if she was able to track Commander Jazin down.
Jazin was getting a few wedding details hammered out at the concierge desk. And strangely enough he was in uniform. Out of necessity more than anything else as he had to trade his goldi n for red. He'd just leaned against the counter wgen he caught sight of a Klingon walking towards the desk. "Hello!" He said, being ever the friendly sort.
Ellie walked over to the desk and stopped as soon as she saw the two men near the desk. It's been a while since she been like this. It seems old habits never die. She walked between the two men. "Ok, guys, who called security and why?" She was wearing a tankini and a skirt. She leaned her back against the desk and turned to the klingon. "I am colonel Ellis Sheppard." She pointed to Jazin. "This is commander Jazin, my fiancé. And in trouble. As are you, if you're checking in to the USS Ottawa. There was a memo about wearing uniforms on Risa, didn't you get it..." she looked to the rank on his uniform. "...Commander?" She turned to Jazin. "Wasn't there a memo?" She looked to his uniform and chuckled. "I guess there wasn't. So how about I am getting us three a table and you two can catch up." She winked to Jazin. And then turned to the klingon again. "What's your name, commander? I was just assigned as CO to the Ottawa, haven't been through the personnel files yet."
Drakord couldn't help but raise an eye brow when the Colonel said she was engaged to her XO, at first he thought he might have misheard the exchange but decided not to ask again. "Hello Colonel, my name is Drakord, I'll be taking the position as your Chief Tactical Officer aboard the ship."
"Nice to meet you, commander, I'll be over there. What can I order you?" Ellie asked.
"Not meaning to be stereotypical but Blood Wine if they have it." He looked between the two of them "What better beverage for first introductions hmm?" He gave the Commander a slap on the back as he finished his sentence.
She nodded, "Alright, see you guys there." She pointed out to the terrace and then looked to Jazin. "Say nice things about me, number one, that's an order." She grinned as she walked out to the terrace.
Drakord watch the Colonel walk away before turning back to Jazin "Pardon me sir, but she did say you two were engaged did she not?" This time he extended his arm for a proper greeting.
"That she did." Jazin grinned. Jazin took the offered hand. "It was our previous posting. We leaned on each other through basically hell. And I guess love blossomed." he said. "Oh. Commander Jazin Ijaan." he smiled.
Drakord looked over the desk at the receptionist and then back to Jazin, "Well I can sign in later." He gestured his arm out to the direction Ellie had gone and followed the Commander out to the terrace.
"Indeed." He said as the pair joined Ellie on the terrace. Jazin took a deep breath and just relexed.
Ellie smiled warmly as the two of them sat down at the table. "Three boodwines. Cause drinks are best shared, don't you agree, commander Drakord?" She took her drink. "So what did you guys talk abou?" She asked curious.
"Nothing." Drakord said as he picked up his cup and peered into it, inspecting the substance. "We figured better not to keep a lady waiting, especially when the lady is your fiance eh?" He nudged Jazin with his elbow while smiling. He semlt the contents of the cup before raising it in front of him "I believe a cheers is in order!"
"That's right, cheers!" They clanged their cups and Ellie took a sip. "Now, I have to tell you as I am out of uniform I am like this. But once the uniform goes on, and you might like that Drakord, I am very strict on the chain of command. Fleet regulations and order. Cause you know I am still a marine, right?" She took another sip. "The commander knows how serious I am, tell him, number one." She looked to her cup. "Yea, no I don't think I will call you number one." She poked Jazin softly. "but tell him."
"She's pretty squared away." he agreed. 'Unless there are stores around." he laughed. "Seriously though. She's as fair as fair can be. But also tough when she has to be." he said. "Which is basically what she just said. But I've been her right arm for a while so I guess I'm the "Good cop" to her sometimes "Bad cop".
Drakord looked between the two of them, "I would expect nothing less, it sounds like we'll get on just fine." He drank several mouthfuls of the bloodwine. He was surprised to discover it was real bloodwine and not replicated, he would never have expected Risa to have any actual stores of bloodwine. "Such a hearty beverage, tell me do you two like Bloodwine or is it just one of those drinks you're willing to put up with if the situation demands it?"
Ellie took another sip. "I really appreciate it. And, you know, when we were in that bad place, during the war, bloodwine gave us a little courage to go on. The Klingons are such spirited people. Cheerful, rowdy. Kind of like bloodwine. " She chuckled.
"I couldn't agree with you more Colonel." Darkord said as he took another drink from his cup.
"Hear hear!" The trill grinned.
