[USS Juno] Second opinion

Location: Sickbay
Timeline: 06/01/2394 0800

After a good breakfast, a shower and a lot of thinking, Charlena walked in to sickbay. She looked around if she could see T'San around. She wasn't in her office either, she checked for sure. And then she saw T'Para. It was quiet in sickbay so she walked over to her. "Doctor T'Para, could I talk to you for a moment?"

The hybrid was sitting behind her desk when she heard her name being called. Looking up at the familiar voice. She let out a warm smile " Hello Charlena what can i help you with?"

"Right, yes, well, this morning I fainted and Doctor T'San, her tricorder actually, said that I was pregnant. I couldn't believe it." She laughed a bit nervous. "I do thinks she is a good doctor, but after thinking it over, it's impossible. You know the thing you need to have to have a baby...I haven't had it for like several years. There was some kissing, maybe cuddling, and unless I missed something, I don't think that gets you pregnant. So, I would like a second opinion. Would you mind? I don't know the other doctors."

" I see. No none of that can get you pregnant, well not with most mammalian species. Let's get you on one of the biobeds and we'll take another look." The hybrid said calmly to her friend as she brought up the doctor's scans results. This was sounding very odd.

Charlena got on the bio bed and looked around. "Thank you for doing this doctor."

" It's no problem. I've been in this situation before. " She said as she started the biobeds scanner. Immediately the hybrid knew something was wrong. " When did you start feeling the symptoms?" She asked

"This morning, when I was sparring with your husband I got dizzy and I fainted. I just thought it was a low blood sugar for not eating breakfast before the exercise," Charlena explained. "Before that I had no symptoms."

" Well, this isn't making any sense. " T'para said as she watched the data come in. "Your body appears to be putting out the pheromones to indicate you're pregnant, but there's no fetus."

"That is strange, doctor," Charlena said, "Do you have an explanation for that?"

T'para paused as she looked at the data that was coming through. Nothing biological could be causing this so that leaved... She disappeared for a second before bringing out another scanner to be clipped to the head. " Here let me put this on you." She said calmly.

Charlena was a bit nervous. But she allowed T'Para to do her thing. She trusted her and she wanted it all over quickly.

T'para clipped the scanner to her friends head before switching it on. " Now let's see if I'm right." she said as she looked at the scan results.

Charlena sat still. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do. After a while she asked, "Anything, doctor?"

" Yes, there is something. It looks like there's something causing a physic residue in your mind. I'll need to run some more tests to see if we can match it to the wavelength of any psychic species, but it looks like we may have found the source of your problem. Someone may be fooling your body into thinking it's pregenent." the hybrid explains as she moved the screen around so that the human could see the results.

Charlena looked at the screen and then turned away. She nodded. "Would you like to bet it's Crescent in origin?" She couldn't imagine any other species in the Alpha Quadrant capable or willing to do such a thing. She sighed.

" Looks like it. Until we get an actual crescent brain scan we can't be sure, but we've not bumped into any other psyic species. " T'para replied.

Charlena nodded. "You could talk with T'San and Orson. I believe Orson is very cooperative with T'San. Maybe she can make a brainscan of his brain?"

" Oh, i will. For all we know it's him doing it. " T'para said as she already had filled a report and issued a security risk on Orson. " Here i'll give you something that should block the interference."

"Thank you, doctor, you're a lifesaver," Charlena said with a smile. "Let me know if you find something." She slid off the bio bed. "So am I good to go now?"

" Yes you can go. Though if you feel anyhting unsual please come straight back. " The hybrid replied.
