A new beginning

Mission: [JM USS Shanghai] S1, E7: The Dragonian Code
Location: First officers quarters.

In the dark quarters of the first officer, the new promoted Xalanth sat looking at the new uniform jacket in his hand. His yellow eyes fixed on the place his captain's pips would be. He'd hoped of getting the captains chair, but going this quickly was something he had not expected.

He wondered if it was due to high command wanting to get friendly with his people. It wouldn't be the first time the federation had prompted someone to get good relationships with an outsider race.

" You brooding again?" came the voice of his other half which brought a grin to his face as he looked at her.

His mate was wearing the new uniform trousers with the jacket held in one hand. Her t-shirt was the same old medical blue only with white letters reading captains woman across it. " I take it you like it." She said with a grin over her face.

" Love it though maybe not wear it on duty. " he said calmly to which his mate snapped a salute trying to hold back the grin on her face. Reaching up the lizard grabbed her and pulled her down onto the bed.

A smile was on his face as he pulled her closer to him feeling her heat from her body against his own. " You think i can do this?" He asked honestly.

" You'll do great.." She said softly as she ran her hand along his face. " I just hope our girls will adjust. "

" I'm sure they will. " He replied hugging her closer. " They have a wonderful mother."

He continued to hug his wife until the two fell into a sleep, but even there the thoughts couldn't leave his head.
