[JM New Haven] S1 E2 A New Haven
Location: Senior officers lounge
Timeline: MD001 1400
Colonel Ijaan was the first to arrive at the lounge. She was ordered by Commodore Meran to start the meeting with the CO's for her as she was still detained at Starfleet Head quarters. She walked to the replicator and ordered a teapot and some light snacks. She started to lay them out on the table. Once the table was set, the first people started to come in.
First to come in was Commander Kitara. The Klingon doctor didn't look that big, but she looked confident none the less. She looked to the colonel sitting at the table. A grin got on her face. "Colonel Sheppard, or is it Ijaan now. I heard you conquered yourself a Trill. Good for you!" She laughed as she sat down and looked at the tea. "Tea?" She just nodded as she said, "You must tell us about the adventures you had the past 9 years."
Ellie took the tea pot and poured Kitara a cup. "Maybe another time, Commander, there are more important things at hands right now." She put the cup in front of Kitara.
Kitara nodded. "Very well, colonel."
It was then the doors swished open and Captain Daniella Williams walked in. The two other ladies looked up at her. The both nodded to her. "Captain," Kitara said to her. Daniella looked from Kitara to Ellie and nodded to them as she said, "Commander, Colonel." She walked to the table and sat down at the table next to Kitara. This time Kitara reached for the pot and poured Daniella a cup and put it in front of her. Daniella nodded and said, "Thank you, commander."
Outside the door the newly promoted lizard breathed in slightly. He still felt nervous about all this and his mind was still wondering if the fleet had other reasons for his promotion. Taking in a deep breath he stepped through the door trying to put on his least intimidating appearance. Nodding to everyone he let out a polite " Captain, commander, Colonel."
Ellie looked over to the Dragonian that walked in. "Commander, welcome, please have a seat. Would you like some tea?" She pointed to the pot. "We also got a variety of snacks and treats here."
Kitara laughed a little. "I heard a lot about the hospitality of the Colonel Ellis Sheppard when I served in the M90 galaxy." She explained. "But to be treated to it in person...what a delight." She hit the other chair next to her. "Commander Xalanth, please join us. You are one of us now. Don't feel shy."
Xalanth had settled into one of the seats and taken a cup of the tea before taking a seat. " Thank. I'm still not quite into the captain's mindset just yet. Still, keep getting confused when the ship's computer addresses me as captain. "
Kitara tapped him on the shoulder. "Ah you get used to it. I was a chief doctor before they told me I was running a medical facility on the colony here. Director of medical in the sector." She grinned.
Bervag entered the room, looking a little tired. The recently promoted trill waved to everyone present before grabbing himself a seat, instantly spotting Xalanth. "Hey." He said. "Just heard about you getting Shanghai. Congrats" he smiled.
He turned to the others. "Hello everyone." He said. "Captain Bervag Bers." He said, by way of introduction.
"Commander Kitara of the house of Paghal," Kitara said sipping from her tea. "Nice to meet you, captain."
"Captain Daniella Williams," Daniella said nodding.
"Colonel Ellis Ijaan," Ellie said smiling.
"And I am, Colonel John Sheppard," Came a voice, as the colonel walked in to the lounge. He made a mocking salute to his sister and everyone in the room. He then looked to his sister. "Since you have seniority, sis, why don't you explain how this works."
Ellie looked with a raised eyebrow to her brother. "Oh right." She collected herself a moment. "Well we are only waiting for the Admiral and General to join us for this briefing, in the meantime enjoy the refreshments. Also, please call me Ellie. Fleet hierarchy is nice out there, but I like things to be a bit more familiar in here. We all command a group of people here."
Bervag smiled. "On that note. Just call me Bervag." He grinned. He grabbed himself a tea.
Craig had stepped off the jackdaw not five minutes before, But there was a meeting to be had and he knew he had to be there. Walking the halls, it had been a while since he had been at new haven, last time was to see his brother EJ.That had been before he was assigned the Jackdaw. Walking into the meeting he smiled "Bervag it is nice to see you old friend" he said looking to everyone else "Major General Craig O'Donnaghue captain of the Jackdaw" he said taking a bow.
Layla was behind Craig, he probably had no idea. Chelsea told her to go with him, all would be explained as soon as she got there. She looked around at the people that were there and like holding her finger on her lips notifying everyone to keep silent. And then walked up next to her, "Hello everyon, I am Commander Layla Meran O'Donnaghue!" Looking laughing at her startled husband, "Got a lollipop for me, sweety?"
Criag nearly jumped when he herd the voice "Darling your going to be the end of me i swear" He said clutching his his chest with one hand and rifling through his pokets with the other, he had learned since marrying layla keeping lollipops on you at all times was a must "One Blackcurrent lollipop for you my moon and stars" he said smikring a little as he did so.
Ellie was really hard trying to hold her laughing. Kitara did her best not to hit the table.
Xalanth was still feeling out of place here. Still, he'd get used to it he thought to himself. Noting the time he pulled out a small pill bottle and quickly downed three of them. The last thing he needed was his condition messing up. " has anyone heard anything about the crescent? They have been rather quite recently. " He asked politely.
Ellie turned silent by the mentioning of the Crescent. She looked around the room as the room fell quiet with her getting quiet. She took a deep breath. "I was given a report about them prior to arriving to the base, and before we left to the Dragonian colony. I believe the the base is having a new Crescent residence. Alongside a young master Orson De, I believe he is now joined by a Kadje Ae, I believe?" She looked over to the Bervag for confirmation.
Bervag nodded. "That's right. Haven't quite figured out our newcomer yet to be honest." Bervag admitted. "Which reminds me, I need to get with Orson soon."
Hanging back, letting the meeting get underway pertty good, Admiral Llewellyn turned the corner headed to the conference room. He'd only just beamed from the Arlington a few minutes before and was anxious to see all the COs.So he decided to enter as himself, not as an Admiral. He nodded to all as he came behind the resident General in the room. He gave Layla the "shh" signal. "Hi Craig. How's my former second officer today?" He laughed
Craigs hand was at his heart no sooner had he put it down "Dillion you gotta stop doing this to me your as bad as layla" he said laughing "Somebody hiding EJ here too" he said laughing "Cause this is a damn reunion" he looked to dillion "I am fine former captain little rusted from the rain of war but other wise fine" he said laughing.
Ellie snapped them back to the here and now. "Admiral, General," She said with a nod. "I would be the first to keep things casual, but right now we have more serious business to address. Which is called the Crescent, and I understand why you have asked me here. You want to know if I met them in the alternate reality. I have." She looked a bit looming around the room. "In this universe I was stranded everything is different. The Federation was formed much earlier than ours. Also by 2379 the Bajorans, Cardassians and Klingons were members of the alternate Federation. So by the time I arrived in January 2385, they had explored and mapped out the Delta Quadrant and Gamma Quadrant far further then we could dream. The Dominion war was fought out in the Gamma Quadrant. And in 2388 had they encountered the Crescent. Within a year the alternate Amilla had declared war against the Federation. That war was still ongoing when I was pulled out of the Alternate reality, by I still don't know what, two months ago. At the time that I left the empress Amilla had just send in two powerful army commanders." She got up and was silent a moment for a dramatic effect. "Their names were Orson and Kadja De. Though still young, they were just as powerful as Amilla, if not more powerful."
" So we may have two crescent military commanders on the station? " Xalanth asked feeling slightly confused at the mention of alternative realities. " I hope we have them under heavy armed guard."
Ellie looked to Xalanth and then said, "You're own security logs said it was Captain Anderson that gave Orson De asylum, so..." She looked to Bervag. "I think not."
"I've come to trust young Mr De. I owe him my sanity, as does a number of the Shanghai crew. And he hasn't given me cause to not trust him." Bervag said. "Furthermore, my own XO has mind melded with him. I'm sure she'd let me know if he posted a threat. Vulcans are like that"
Layla walked around the table as Bervag talked. "I'm sorry to interrupt, Captain, Colonel, everyone. But my sister asked me to play you a message she recorded." When it was quiet she said, "Computer, play holo recording, Meran 02."
The image of Commodore Meran appeared in the room. "Captain Williams, Colonel Ijaan, Commander Xalanth. The admiral and the general are aware of this information. You ships are effective immediately part of the Task Force Mystic Knights, under the command of Admiral Llewellyn." She was quiet a moment and then continued. "I am sorry that I am not here to talk with you personally, but I will join soon. Right now, I am overseeing the refit of my new command. I am having an old steamrunner brought back in to service under the name of the USS Valkyrie."
She let that sink in a moment.
Ellie jumped up and looked to the admiral and the general, "You had the old Ottawa refitted?"
Holo Chelsea interrupted. "Yes, Colonel Ijaan. The Steamrunner class has seen the Crescent in the alternate reality, so it was only fitting she would finish the job. Most of the tech alternate starfleet had installed was installed again and upgraded or repaired. We manage to duplicate some of it. We hope we would refit all the ships in the fleet and taskforce with it." She took a deep breath. "And in this reality, Commander Xalanth has already faced the Crescent, who better to command the Shanghai in Captain Anderson's place than him." She smiled, "And, yes, aside from that, we did have a diplomatic reason for your promotion, I am sure that is going through your mind. Your connection with your people does give us an edge in this situation. I don't want to call it a war yet. We would like to begin diplomatic relations with the Dragonians. And we hope they can aid in whatever the Crescents throws against us. Your promotions came at the right time. We are glad you excepted it." The hologram disappeared.
" I guessed as much. I'll do my best to get my people on side, but it up to the chair of three back home. My grandmother will probably agree to help, but the other two will take some serious arm twisting. " Xalanth responded as he lent back in his chair.
Ellie sat back down. "I read your service record, Xalanth, I think even without this thing with the Crescent you would have earned your promotion and a command none the less." She smiled. "I think the fleet is grateful for any help you can offer. Everyone here would like to attend the promotion ceremony. If you'll have us."
" I'd be honored to have you all." The lizard replied calmly as he looked around the room.
"We will be there," Ellie said smiling.
"I wouldn't miss it, Commander." Dillon said.
Ellie got up. "Thank you, all, I think we have a little preparing to do for the ceremony. We will adjourn the meeting till tomorrow." She nodded to everyone present and looked over to the Admiral and he nodded to her. She then said, "Dismissed!"
