Mission:
[ USS Shanghai] S1E8 Light of the past.
Location: Shanghai Quarantine bay
The airlock doors closed with a hiss as the away team stepped into the white quarantine room.
The hybrid let out a sigh as she headed for one of the private rooms still clad in the broken remnants of her armor. " Could someone help me get out of this?" She asked the away team and the pilots.
Charlie dropped her gun down and walked after. "I'll help you, Lieutenant," She said as she walked in to the room with her. "Lieutenant Jexen, can you give me a hand." She hoped if the science officer came with her she could help make sense of all this.
"Of course." Kimoni replied as placed her science kit in a quarantine box. "Are you feeling any more changes T'Para?"
Right now she'd like a chance to run a tricorder scan of the doctor, but like the rest of her gear, her tricorder was currently undergoing decontamination.
" No no more changes." the hybrid calmly replied as they headed into one of the rooms for some privacy.
"Well that's good... I guess. As good as having your DNA altered can get." Kimoni replied, "Once we're through here I can take a look at those samples, see what there is we can do to reverse... whatever it is that's been done to you."
Charlie had no idea what the two talked about and just started by pealing off the armor she was wearing. "Lieutenant, please let me know if it gets uncomfortable, I mean pain wise of course." She looked at the damage on the armor pieces. She dropped the pieces on the floor. Not sure if they want to do some examinations on them.
T'para was grateful for the help. Her helmet came off easily enough despite the two horn holes it now had. The hybrid blinked as she looked at herself in the reflection. Her bright blue eyes were now a dark purple. She couldn't help, but feel sad at that.
The back piece was a problem. Having two very large wings sprouting for them made it hard to remove especially as she was really struggling to control them.
Thankfully her black undersuit was still intact apart from the rips were her new appendages had sprouted from. " Sorry about all this." she said to the other two women
"Relax, well as much as you can given the situation of course." Kimoni replied, tossing the backplate of T'Para's armour to one side. "You have nothing to be sorry about, it's not like you planned to have your DNA messed with bu some nutcase with a shiny orb." She added with a smile, placing a hand on T'Para's shoulder. "I'll do what I can to fix this T'Para, you have my word on that."
" Thanks, Kimoni. " The hybrid responded with a soft smile. " I hope we can fix this. If the collective of lights biotech is anything like there counterparts we'll need all the help we can get."
Charlie smiled. "And I will find out who is responsible. Whether it's the Crescent, or something else, or something working with the Crescent. We will figure this out."
Sandy was seeing to her pilots in the quarantine area making sure they were comfortable. It was also a good chance to meet them individually. She was also debriefing them and gathering their reports so she could report their actions to the captain.
The airlock door slid open as an enviro clad medical team entered. " Hello everyone. Please remain calm and we'll get this over with as quickly as possible. " Said the teams lead. A Vulcan doctor called Vonvur who was the leader of the c shift.
Her team went about taking blood samples from everyone as well as checking on the Orion they had brought back with them. " She's going to be okay. Just a little dehydrated and malnutrition. Now lets get some blood samples from the rest of you."
"Doctor, I hope this won't take too long. My pilots and myself included need to check out fighters and debrief. How soon will we be able to get cleared?", Sandy asked Vonvur.
The vulcan doctor held up a finger as she looked at the results coming in on the medical scanner. " Okay, you three are looking free of contamination. You'll have to stay here for six hours as is stand procedure. "
"Jeezzzz that long huh?", Sandy said unhappily. She would have liked to get a good shower.
" Those are the rules captain." The doctor responded calmly.
One of the nurses was running a medical scanner over T'para, Jexen and Dilucca. " Well good news for Major Dilucca and lieutenant Jexen. You're both showing no signs of contamination. Lieutenant T'para your quite a mess. You're DNA been altered and you have new organs, muscles. We'll have to get you into sickaby when you get out of her for a full rundown."
Charlie sighed in relief. "Well, I could tell you that. I think the Doctor is pretty obvious." She gave an encouraging nod to T'Para.
" Have there been any changes?" The hybrid asked.
The vulcan looked at the readings on the scanner. " No no changes since the first scan. "

Outside of the quarantine area in the small observation bay, the red lizard let out a sigh. " Well that could have gone better," He said to his first officer and his cadet who were seated at the small table.
Kerja was going through padds. She wasn't really wanting to look in to adult people in the quarantine area. "I agree, maybe not the best way, but we know a bit more. Granted, we have more questions than before, but still. We know what happened to the colony."
" You're right cadet." the lizard said as he clicked the windows closed to give the people in quarantine some privacy. " Commander Thorrin have we decoded the crescent shuttle's computer?"
"Yes sir we have and it seems that the only thing of use from the shuttle's computer is it's coordinates of origin. We know where it came from. However, what it's mission was or why it was brought down is still somewhat of a mystery. We are working on it though. Part of the problem that we are having is the lack of understanding of the Crescent language." Thorrin replied curtly and sipped his coffee.
Taking a look at the data the Dragonian expression stayed the same. " Near the crescent prison, we raided awhile ago. Guess that confirms the crescent ship is here to pick them up."
Walking up to a com panel just inside of the quarantine room, "Captain, if the Crescent ship was coming to pick them up, why didn't they come in faster instead of deliberately moving so slowly? It would seem to reason that they would want to get them off faster wouldn't it?", Sandy asked.
"There ship has damaged engines." The lizard replied calmly. " It looks like they're stuck on impulse power. I have you fighters following it at a safe distance."
A little surprised, Sandy looked at the captain, "Sir, you have one of my people shadowing the Crescent ship? I had no knowledge of this, but under the current circumstances it is warranted", Sandy replied calmly. She had no desire to anger the captain.
Thorrin stroked his chin and nodded in agreement with the Captain's statement about why the Crescent ship was there. "Sir I recommend a strike team. Let's board this Crescent ship and take it over. Then our people can take to the rendezvous. We can set up an ambush and perhaps end this once and for all." He cocked an eyebrow in the direction of the decontamination room. The XO for one was relieved that the CAG concurred with the Captain.
"It would be to our advantage captain. It also would give us rather good idea of their ship and its technologies as well sir. And I think by learning of how their ships work, we could possibly form a good defense and eradicate our problem", Sandy stated the facts.
The red lizard though for a moment before responding. " Sounds like a good idea. I'm sure the boys in Starfleet engineering would love to have a poke around a crescent ship. Lieutenant Commander would you start organizing a boarding party. We can use the crescent shuttle. "
"Captain, I need to be out there with my pilots. We still have not yet ascertained if they have fighters", Sandy said.
"Aye sir..." Thorrin said as he grabbed his PADD and started to hammer out the details for a boarding party.
The lizard thought for a moment. " Very well. Doctor if Air captain Shannon and anyone else is cleared let them out with a medical monitor. I'll take full responsibility if something happens."
The vulcan doctor nodded and pulled one of the monitors from her belt before placing it on the captain's neck before doing the same for the others apart from the mutated vulcan.
Finally stepping out of the quarentine area, "Ghost Squadron, ready your fighters. As of now you are standby for go!", Sandy said sharply and watched as they hurried away.
"Commander Thorrin I am at your disposal", Sandy said.
Thorrin nodded in the direction of Sandy as he left the room. Another mission to plan, at least this one was his idea.
Sandy had some idea of what was needed in order for this to work. So this little brief would help finalize that plan.
