Mission: [USS Ottawa] S1, E3: The True Way
Location: Risa
Timeline: pre wedding

John was seated at a bar on Risa. He had traded his uniform for something more comfortable. He put his sunglasses on as the weightress put a glass on the table in front of him. He gave a slight wink to her before he pulled the glasses completely over his eyes. He looked around as he grabbed the cold beer, he ordered. Then he saw Jazin walk by on his own. "Jazin, has my shopping crazed sister finally left you alone?" He asked and motioned him to join him. "Come drink a cold one with me. My treat!"

Jazin perked up as he walked by. He looked around to see who was talking. "Oh! Hey John." he grinned. Jazin was dressed in blue shirt and khaki shorts. A recent acquisition from one of Ellies shopping excursions. "Best offer I've heard all day. Thanks a lot." he turned to the waitress. "Whatever he's having I guess." he chuckled.

John pulled off his sunglasses to take a better look at the attire Jazin was wearing. "One thing is for sure, my sister got taste. Both in man and style." He grinned and put the sunglasses back on and leaned back. "So how long have you been dating my sister?" He was trying to strike up a conversation. His marine trained sister was perfectly capable of taking care of herself so he didn't need to be overly protective over her.

"Thanks." Jazin said. "More than a few years now. But we were friends befor then of course." Jazin began, knowing that he had Ellies best interests at heart. 'Dating happened about Id say halfway through our..absence." he said. 'She needed to unwind, I needed to unwind so we began to hang out more and more. And here we are about to get "hitched" as I believe is the expression." he smiled.

"You are very lucky with Ellie. She is not an easy person to hitch. I heard many men tried. She has always looked for that special someone I guess. And I guess it was you." Said John. He sipped on his beer. He put his glass down. "As I said, I like you, I don't have to tell you to take care of little Ellie, Ellie can take care of her own, as you must have found out the past years." He grinned. "I have been reading up on your file as well, I am impressed."

Jazin blushed as he sipped his own beer. "Uh..Thank you." he said. "And I've heard so much about you, John. From Ellie and when we were briefed for that rescue." the Trill began. "And likewise." he said. He took a drink. "Which brings me to another point. I know e've just met recently, but I know what I've read and liked it. Plus I usually trust my gut with people." Jazin said. He looked off to the distance.

""I'll come straight to it, and I realize it's sudden as all get out. John, would you be my best man?"

John remained quiet as to let that question sink in. He took another sip from his beer and looked to the ocean. He then leaned forward and said, "Normally in the absence of my father I would think I would have the honor of giving my sister away. But she has asked someone else. Which let me to believe she gave her blessing to you asking me to be your best friend." He straightened his back. "I also trust my gut with people, so I accept."

"Oh, that's good." Jazin said. "To be honest I wa worried about falling flat on my face with that one." he chuckled.

John finished his drink and waved to the weightress. "Another drink, Jazin?" He offered.

"Sounds good to me." Jazin grinned.

John looked to the weightress as she go to the table. "Another round here, love." He winked to her before turning back to Jazin.
