Mission: USS Ottawa General (Side Missions)
Location: SB New Haven and USS Ottawa
Timeline: A day after the bendy mission

Daniella walked into the office of Colonel Sheppard. "Hello, Colonel, I believe you have something for me. Or I should rather say someone. I was informed a new crew member was stranded on the base?"

John got up from his chair and nodded. "Ah yes, Captain. I got a 1st Lieutenant Walker, security officer here." He handed her a pad. "Star Fleet command has signed the transfer papers. I have yet to inform him about our situation, but you know, since he is not mine, I think you should do the honors of briefing him. Also, be sure to mention the familiar and mafia-like command we are running here. He giggled a little at that part.

Daniella nodded. "It seems weird, but it does work. I am just glad we are not all related, but it is hard nowadays not to find a relative of your crew in this fleet. She took the pad from him. I will have a read over and where can I find Mr. Walker?''

John pointed at the viewport in his office looking out into space. "I should put on an EVA suit, the guy loves his spacewalks."

Daniella raised an eyebrow. "You got to be kidding me. I should have asked Commander Reagan to go instead." She sighed. "Well, no time like the present right? Thank you, Colonel, I owe you one." She then walked out of the colonel's office and went to the airlock with EVA suits in pursuit of her security officer.

When she got into a suit and was walking the outer hull of the Starbase, she looked around. She hadn't done this in a long time. Normally this was only done by engineers needing work on the outside. She did this last during training. And several times when she was in security herself, but even then it was only done in strict emergencies. She quickly found the Lieutenant. "First Lieutenant Walker. " She called in her helmet microphone, so she knew he could hear her.

Ellais was startled by the sudden voice.

"Oh! Hello There!" he says as he turns to face his new CO.

"Hello, I am Captain Daniella Williams. I am the commanding Officer of the USS Ottawa. I am here to take you to your new home sort of speaking." She looked around. "Maybe we talk a bit easier, at least I would if we got back on the Starbase?"

"Oh yes of course," Ellias says as he slowly walks back to the airlock.

**Few Minutes Later**
Daniella got out of her suit. "Ah yes, much better." She then held out her hand to the Lieutenant. "I know we're not on the ship yet, but welcome on board the Ottawa. Do you need to get your belongings before we go to the ship, or will we get them later? We won't be staying long, we just have a checkup of our systems, as we had a security breach before we got back."

"Thank you, Ma'am. And no I have most of my things already with me in my backpack." Ellais says as he handshakes.

"Excellent, let's go then." Daniella took the lead to airlock that had her ship docked. The Insignia ship was quite large, so you could see it from the viewports on the outside. "Have you ever served on an Insignia class ship, Lieutenant?" She asked as she was trying to make some conversation with the lieutenant.

"Yes, On USS Spetznaz. But that one was much smaller compared to this ship." Ellais says as he glares at the visible weapon systems of the ships.

"Hmm," Daniella looked at her pad. "It says here the Spetznaz is an intrepid class. They are smaller, yes, but they are pretty spicy nonetheless. It's a smaller exploration-class vessel. You will find that Insignia is much more designed for warfare, though we don't like that term. It is the times we are in right now." She stopped in front of the airlock. "I will brief you on our current situation when we get to my office." She then tapped her com badge. "Lieutenant Traconis, this is Captain Williams, please report to my ready room."

Jasmine tapped on her commbadge, "Right away Captain" rising from her desk and heading immediately to the turbolift.


Daniella then proceeded with Walker. "Lieutenant Walker, this way please." She then stepped through the airlock that connected the base to the ship. "I hope you don't mind taking the airlock. I have been transported around the ship too many times these last few days, I just like to keep my molecules intact for some time now. I will explain later.'

"Uhmm....ok..." Ellais replies confusedly but continues to follow.

---Captain's ready room---

"Please have a seat, Lieutenant. I think the chief will join us soon. Would you like some refreshments while we wait?" Daniella offered as she made her way to the replicator.

"No thanks," Ellais replies.

She pushed a few buttons on the replicator and then said, "A latte please, a little sweet. " The computer tjirped and a glass with the drink appeared and she picked it up and walked to the desk. "Has someone welcomed you to the Gamma Quadrant, Lieutenant?"

"No. I came all by myself" Ellias replies.

"Very risky, coming here on a runabout on your own through the wormhole, I hope the journey was uneventful to the base from the wormhole," Daniella said. "And welcome to the Gamma Quadrant. It's not as comfortable as the Alpha Quadrant, but we managed to make it feel like home where we can. Doesn't stop the fact that most civilians have left the sector." She sighed. "was not a pleasant thing. Have you served in the Dominion War?"

"No ma'am, I have only dealt with Pirates and Bandits," Ellais says.

"You were lucky then." Daniella stared out of the window. "Or not, I don't know. Your records speak of a medal of bravery, could you tell me how you got that?"

Ellais paused for a bit then continued.

"Back when I was at Spetznaz, it was once highjacked by bandits. I was in the weapons room at that time. I was experienced in hand-to-hand combat and took a lot of them stealthily until none left...."

"I see," Daniella pressed a button on her desk and a screen appeared out of her desk. "Computer, show me the mission reports of the USS Spetznaz."

The computer replied, "Registry?"

"NCC 74670," Daniella replied and a list of documents appeared on her screen. She nodded. "Interesting, you also made a report on it I see. Do you still require mental assistance with this? I'll be sure to send a note to Doctor Walker about this." She then realized the same name. But it wasn't unheard of for humans to have the same name, perhaps they were distant relatives, but it was up to the Lieutenant if he wanted to figure that out.

"Your call ma'am" Ellais replies.

"I am pretty sure the doctor will contact you as soon as she has all your medical files." Daniella said smiling.

Jasmiine pressed the button to announce her arrival then stepped inside, "Hello Captain, how may I be of service?" glancing towards the tall male who was in the ready room as well. She quickly took in his physique, the way he stood, and opted the Captain's mannerism as well.

She also looked at Walker. "I am Lieutenant Traconis, I'm chief of security. What is your name, Lieutenant?" Jasmine decided to ask.

Ellais stands up facing the Lieutenant and salutes, "1st Lieutenant Ellais T Walker, reporting for duty."

Daniella got up as well. "Lieutenant Traconis, this is our or your new assistant Chief of Security. He is a marine, yes, but they make good security officers. Maybe you need to take some time to get to know him. Also, he likes spacewalks, I don't know if that is a hobby of yours, but it is something to talk about."

"I've done spacewalks, but not as a hobby. Something as part of the job at one point. You never know if someone decides to try to hide on the outer hull of a ship. " Jade responded. "Welcome aboard."

"Yeah, I have had that experience before, and thanks ma'am" Ellais Replies

"Perhaps you would be willing to do a refresher course in that aspect? I could probably use one, it's been a bit. Maybe do a simulation as to something like that before we go out on the hull of the ship." Jasmine said, thoughtfully looking at Walker.

"Yeah, why not?" Ellais Replies, "It's been a while since I have fired a rifle in space."

"Looks like you two are getting acquainted. Is there anything you need from me, Lieutenant?" Daniella asked.

"Since we are talking about guns, can I get access to the range too?" Ellais answered.

Jasmine took a look at Ellais, "Yes, you will be able to have access to them as well. It is really important for those of the crew to be up to date with the handling of the phasers. Something that we're going to need to address as well." turning her gaze towards Daniella, then to Ellais. "Lets make a plan to see about the certifications of the crew, if that is alright with you?" turning back to Daniella.

"By all means, please," Daniella said, This meeting was to introduce you two and I have done so. Again welcome on board Lieutenant."
