Mission:
[USS Ottawa] S1, E3: The True Way
Location: Risa Resort
Timeline: 05/30/2394, 2130 Hours
The two teenagers, seemed to be glued at the hips. Or maybe it was Peyton's wishful thinking. But they had just finished power boarding and made their way through dinner, when Peyton was trying to continue the night. He had lost track, of his curfew check in with his sister. "Do you want to dance?" Asked Peyton, as they walked past the main dance floor.
Sam smiled, she was having a great time. She had to check in with her brother, but he was most likely around here as well. She wouldn't be surprised if they would bump in to him. She nodded to Peyton and said, "Sure, I would love to dance."
Peyton motioned with his hand for Sam to follow him out to the dance floor. The two of them started to dance. "Hiow long do you think we will be on Risa?" Asked Peyton. He was a little surprise the USS Ottawa, was not out in space, meeting new races, or protecting the borders of the Federation.
Sam shrugged and said, "I don't, it is shoreleave, so a couple of days. Starfleet captains are always antsy to leave." She followed him. She was keeping him at a safe distance but she knew at one point he wanted a bit more physical contact.
Eoin O'Donnaghue-Meran walked into the risa resort, his irish head held high, his hair up in a neat quiff. His black shirt showing just enough skin to keep people guessing. His black jeans fitting his form well, his boots polished to perfection. Walking over to the bar he looked to the bar keep "One Jim beam and coke with a side of cider" He was going to sit here nad observe like his mother would, however if things got out of hand this resort would be destroyed of somebody even attempted to hurt Sam.
"Just a couple of days, well be better make the most of it." Said Peyton, as they continued to dance, Peyton noticed his sister approaching with another officer. He kept his head down, to avoid eye contact. It just dawned on him. He missed curfew.
Sam noticed Eoin walked in and had taken a drink. She wasn't worried. And then she saw Peyton acting all nervous. "Are you alright?" She asked curious. She had no idea his sister come in viewing range. She was standing with her back to the two officers.
"I sort of, forgot to check in with my sister. She tends to worry a lot." Said Peyton, wondering why his sister treated him like he was 8, when in reality he was a young man. He thought the whole idea of a curfew, was pointless. In a couple of years he would be old enough to be out on his own.
"A curfew? You're sixteen. My brother is over there. When it's time to go home, he will let me know." She grinned.

Emily walked onto the dance floor with Gabe. She was still in pursuit of her brother. It did not take her long to track him down. Emily tapped on Gabe's arm. "There he is." Said Emily, with an annoyed look on her face.
"Try ta be calm, we're in the middle of a large group and ya still in uniform." He replied.
"I am Lieutenant. I can not say Peyton will be calm, when he finds out how grounded he is." Said Emily, as she slowly made her way over to Peyton.
Gabe chuckled at her reply, "This is a fair point." He said, noted that Peyton was trying to hide in plain sight. It didn't help he was the only one acting as if he didn't want to be seen, it made him stand out like a sore thumb. "Not exactly a master of stealth is he?"
"Well lets get this show on the road." Said Emily, as she made her way to Peyton.

"Peyton, lets go." Demanded Emily in an upset tone.
Peyton followed her, and as soon as they were off the dance floor and in area to talk. "I lost track of time, sorry." Said Peyton, trying to play on the good side of Emily. He was young, and having fun.
"Lost track of time, that's your justification for not checking in?" Asked Emily.
"I'm sorry," simply replied Peyton, as he avoided making eye contact with his sister.
Emily wanted to be firm, but part of her understood, that he was young, and naive and having a good time. Plus she had just embarrassed him in front of a cute blonde girl. Maybe that was punishment enough. "Next time I am not going to come down looking for you, I will beam you directly to your quarters on the Ottawa, and ground you. I am not messing around Peyton. Today your getting off with a warning. But if I say check in with me at a certain time, you better check in. Are we clear." Asked Emily.
Peyton softly said, "yes."
"I can not hear you, are we clear?" She asked raising her voice.
"Yes, it will not happen again." Said Peyton, feeling slightly embarrassed by his big sister.
Emily put her hand on his cheek, and lightly tapped it. "Good, now go out and have fun." She said, as she looked to Gabe. And they walked off.
Peyton was not sure what to say. He looked at Sam, he was embarrassed but at least he was not grounded.
"She is strict," said Sam, "remind me not to mess with her." She grinned to Peyton.
"From what I hear, your brother is very intimidating." Suggested Peyton, trying to break the awkwardness he felt, with a something they both had in common. Two siblings that should not be messed with.
Sam shrugged. "My brother is alright, once you get to know him better. Just don't try and mess with me, that will really get him ticked off."
Eoin could sense the shift in paradime from across the room, he dident care about what had gone down. But that was a spike he wasent sure he was ok with, regardless of how that just played out. The poor lad looked like he was about to have an aneurism. Ordering another whisky, downing his cider. He relaxed and whent to check that everything was ok. He wasent in protective brother mode yet, but he needed to check for his own sanity. Walking briskly heel to toe with little to know noise or movement he appeared next to sam " Peyton i take it" He said studying the young man with logical yet somewhat happy eyes "Sammy is everything ok over here?" He asked looking to both of them "That seemed a little intense" he said looking to emily.
"Perhaps, good day sir." Said Emily, as she started to walk away. She did not wait to hear what he had to say or Sam. She wanted the feedback from her mentor.

"How did I do?" Emily asked, hoping to get approval and praise from her mentor.
"I think ya got ya message across." He answered, "Though I'm not exactly an expert in looking after teenagers... granted I was one but not exactly the... normal kind if ya get my meanin'. While the others were busy partying and getting together, I was busy either in my room reading or on a holodeck learnin'."
Emily loved the fact he was sharing his childhood to one of his pupils. She smiled as she said, "While I was playing with Barbie's, you were knees deep in technical manuals. If I may ask, what did you do to relax?" Emily asked.
"I learnt. Engineering, Science, History, Criminology... Yeah I know. I was the only child on the ship wasn't much to do. Used to find a nice comfy spot deep in the Jefferies tube system with a PADD and read for hours."
Emily thought to herself, his actions as her hero were making sense. He spent all of his free time studying. The poor guy did not have time for a social life. This was a little tragic, she thought. "Sorry to hear that sir, my childhood, was a little like Peyton's wild and free and learning who I was." She said, with a big grin on her face.
"Takes all sorts of people to make the universe work Emily. Besides it's what made me the person I am today. This is the first time I've taken time for R&R, it's not so bad I guess."
"All work and no play sir, is not much of a life. Glad you decided to come down to Risa, and experience her culture. This place is surely paradise." Said Emily. Almost completely forgetting that a few minutes ago she yelled at her little brother and blew off a cute irish man.
"That it is." He replied, wondering if he should reply to her all work comment. He decided against it, unwilling as he was to share his reasons.
"People have been telling me to come here for years... glad I final did." He said, "Not that I had a choice." Gabe added with a chuckle.
"Do you know who the cute Irishman was? Clearly he was the big brother of that girl, that Peyton was talking too. He is offly cute sir." Asked Emily, she could not shake his good looks from her mind.
"No idea I'm afraid." He started, "Not often I get to say that, Peyton may be the one to ask about that. I saw him on the ship before I came down here but I've not got up to date on everyone that's transferred to the ship, I've been busy with a... personal project."
"That's a pitty." She said as they started to walk away, she looked back a couple of times with a flirtasous smile.
