Mission:
[USS Ottawa] S1 E4 Mission New Haven
Location: Gabe's quarters
Timeline: MD 2 2200
Alyssa was walking through the hallway towards Gabe's workshop. She hasn't been down there that often. There was a lot of work to do in sickbay. And the last days she has been missing Gabe. She was happy to see him in sickbay earlier today. Now that Umbra had released them from her evil hold, she wanted to get close to him. She came to an hold in front of the workshop's door and waited before she took a deep breath and pressed the door chime. She waited for his acknowledgement.
"Door's Open." Gabe said in reply to the chime, He pulled himself off the basic cot in the corner of the room with a slight groan. He looked at the half drunk cup of tea on his desk and took a drink. The tea was cold, having sat there for the last hour but he downed it anyway before placing the empty cup back on his desk.
Alyssa walked in to the workshop and looked around. And then saw Gabe sitting on the cot with a cup. "This is where you are staying?" She looked around tracing her finger over the workbenches and rubbing the dirt and dust of her fingers. "I was at your quarters earlier, but the computer told me you were here." She finally stopped next to the cot. "Wouldn't sleep better in your room?" She asked.
Gabe smiled, in truth he hadn't really though about it all that much, he was comfortable in his workshop surrounded by his work and research.
"It's been a long few weeks." He said in reply, standing up, "I think better when I'm busy I guess."
Alyssa smiled too. "I think it's the whole point, you shouldn't think in your quarters. It is a place to relax and just take the load from the day off." She took his hand. "Let's go there. I want to see your quarters."
"I'm rarely not thinkin', thinkin' is relaxin' for me. It's about all I did for years as a Kid, read and think. I know, shockin' right?" He said with a chuckle, "I doubt ya missin' much but sure lets head over there."
He walked across the room, grabbing his jacket from the back of his chair. "After you m'lady" He said with a flourish of his hands, pointing towards the door, "Ladies first." He added with a wink.
Alyssa walked out of the room first and waited for Gabe to come out too. Then she hooked her arm around him as he came out. "Lead the way, commander," She grinning.
A few minutes the pair came to Gabe's quarters, the doors slid open onto the main room. In one corner stood a mannequin covered in a set of Chainmail armour, the wall above it held an ornate wooden rack. On the rack sat a one handed axe and above it a longer handled two handed axe. The bookshelf opposite had real paper books, some very well read, on various subjects from Engineering to science, Chemicals to History. On the wall behind the surprisingly cluttered desk was an image of earth taken from near orbit.
"Well this is it. Tell me Counselor is it all ya expected?" He asked, "Would ya like a drink?"
Alyssa looked around the room. It wasn't really what she expected, but it was better then she expected. She walked to the wooden rack. And she looked all the stuff up and down. "No, this is not what I expected at all. But I think I like this side of you. "I would like a fruity cocktail please." She then continued walking around the room. She sat down on the couch. "I am just confused as to why you don't come here."
Gabe walked over to the replicator, "One fruity cocktail." With a hum, the cocktail glass, complete with little umbrella appeared in the replicator nook. He took the glass and handed it to Alyssa.
"What with Umbra rearin' her head and the research i'd had ta do ta update myself on an entirely new subject, I guess I just felt more comfortable down there. It's not so bad, I have everythin' I need in that workshop, plus I've been a little outta sorts, tinkerin' helped clear my mind."
"I see," She said as she took the cocktail from him and leaned back. "With the Umbra threat gone now, you think you can relax now?" She asked as she dropped her shoes off and put her feet up on the couch.
Ordering himself a cup of tea, Gabe fought the urge to shake his head. He took his cup and sat down on the couch, lifting Alyssa's feet before placing them back down on his knees.
"For me, research and work IS relaxin'. I grew up as the only child on a starship. My 'friends' were the crew and whatever I could get outta the main computer. I didn't have ya standard childhood, playin' with friends my own age, laughin' and jokin'. I had a PADD, my mind and unendin' quest for knowledge," He replied, wistfully, "I'm not what ya would consider a..." He added with air quotes, "normal person."
"Ok, in that case," Alyssa said, "you can help me relax." She grinned, "I had an exhausting day. Everything hurts..." She said a bit sobbing. Looking daring at him.
Taking her right foot, He began to massage, starting with the ball and slowly moving downwards. "That bad huh?" He asked as he continued to apply pressure and massage, "Tell ya want, how about I be your counsellor for a change." He added with a smile, "I may not have your skill, but I'm a surprisingly good listener."
She smiled. "That sounds good. Where to begin. I never been on the other end before. And just laying here on your couch, and you massaging my feet, is already great. I never felt this way." She sighed. "It feels good."
"Yeah, i'm pretty sure the massage isn't standard procedure but in this case at least it seems to work." Gabe replied, "And really, nobody counsels the Counselor?" He added with a smile.
Alyssa laughed. "Well, if I need to, I could go to any of the other counselors. But I am guessing some of them are a bit threaten by my position on the ship. I am a doctor by all accounts. A psychiatrist. Maybe it's more of a, I know more than they do." She sighed. "But in truth I can, if I wanted ask one of the other counselors. But they wouldn't give me a massage." She grinned.
Gabe smiled back as he switched feet. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that'd be against a few rules." He replied, "As for knowing more then they do, that's something I can relate to." He added with a slight sigh, "Sometimes I wonder if it's more of a curse then a gift."
She let that sink in a moment. She then pulled her feet back and got up from the couch. She sat down on his lap as she sat down real close against him put her arms around his neck. "For me that is a gift. You are a gift." She mover her face really close to him. "How about we go a little bit further with his rule breaking." She grinned.
He smiled, letting himself lose get lost in the moment, something he hadn't done for a long time. He leaned forward and kissed her neck gently a few times.
"And they say I talk too much." He said with a smile, placing his hands on Alyssa's hips and kissing her deeply.
Alyssa kissed him back, slowly running her fingers through his hair. As their lips parted briefly she whispered, "Then let's stop talking." She smiled before brushing her lips gently against his again.
"Done." He whispered back and kissed her again. He ran his hand up her spine slowly and shifted slightly. He slid down the couch and ended up in a lying position, making sure to bring Alyssa with him.
Alyssa let herself be pulled down on the floor with Gabe. Their lips separated for mere seconds. Finding herself on top of him. She smiled as she bit her lip. She leaned forward and softly whispered in his ears, "I have never been with a man before." She reached up to her hair and pulled the clips loose. Her long brunette hair rolling down over her shoulders.
Gabe said nothing for a moment, unsure of what he should say next. He hadn't expected her to say that. He kissed her again, pulling her closer to him.
"Then I shall endeavour to be the perfect gentleman... or as close as I ever get." He added with a smile
She just smiled as he said that. She gently petted his hair. "I trust you will, commander. Then I guess tonight I am yours."
