Mission: [USS Ottawa]Bendy and the Dark Star Trek
Location: USS Ottawa-Main Engineering
Timeline: MD001 2155 hrs

Robert walked in to main engineering with a padd in his hand. He was hoping to find something on active duty for operations. Yes, he could have used the communication system, but it was fun taking a little stroll and working up an appetite before heading home for bed. As the night shift was about to start, things seemed a bit quiet down in engineering. There were only a few people around and the light settings were set for night time. He was doubting whether or not to let this wait till tomorrow. But he really wanted to make sure he could get the extra powers for the scanners in the science lab. They were going to start a very important experiment tomorrow.

Gabe sat watching the patterns of the warp core as he heard the door to Engineering open, he turned to face the newcomer but remained on the stool in front of the console he was working at. Seeing who had entered he stood up, wincing slightly as he did.

"Really need to stop sleeping in my chair." He said quietly to himself as the splinters of pain in his back eased,
"Good evening Commander Williams to what do we owe this visit?" He asked with a smile.

"Good evening," Robert said, "I hope I am not disturbing with important work. I just wanted to come by and see if I could get these scanners tomorrow. I am going to do some important scientific work." He handed the padd to Gabe. "I don't think we have the pleasure of meeting yet. Commander Sharpe, I assume." Robert smiled warmly. "I believe Lieutenant Tinyo is the Bajoran." He made a gesture to his ear. Bajorans wear earrings. "The Operations chief, I mean." He explained.

"No, nothing important going on at the minute, mostly just making sure everything is running smoothly." He said taking the PADD, "Yes, Commander Sharpe at your service, sorry always forget... ironically... not everyone knows i have a habit of going through the manifest everytime we have new crew come aboard."

He looked at the the data on the PADD, mentally cross referencing the Pallets required and what would be available. He nodded as he handed the PADD back, "Those sensor pallets should be free for your use, I'll make sure nobody else steals them."

"That is very considerate, commander." Robert reached out to take the padd back. And as his hand touched the padd the lights went off, including the glow of the warp core.

When the lights turn back on the warp core did not. But the lights seemed very scarce. Also main engineering looked different from what it looked like a second ago. There are now ink spots and puddles all over the place. Posters all around from different cartoons. Also some cardboard cut out cartoon figures have appeared in main engineering. On the wall behind in thick inky letter was written "The Creator lied to us."

Robert was now holding the padd as he looked around. He titled his head as he saw a gaping dark hole in one of the walls. And ink all over the place. He touched the ink. He held up the black inky hand now. He put the padd on one of the consoles as he grabbed one of a nearby tricorder. He scanned the substance on his hand. "It registers as ink. But it's not." He then started to scan the other items that had appeared in the room. But somehow he seemed like talking to himself. But he didn't notice. "Hmm interesting." He completely ignored the fact that the warp core was still off.

As the lights came back on, Gabe looked around. "Well looks like we're now in important territory." He said matter of factly as he made his way to the warp core. His foot splashed down into a puddle of ink with his first step. He let out an annoyed grunt as he took into the state of his Engineering bay, Monochrome posters all over the walls.

"Ink you say?" He asked Robert as he brought up the Warp Core control systems. "Intermix ratio at zero point zero... That's not possible... Commander It's safe to say we have a serious problem. We're running on back-up power and the warp core is.... well for lack of a better term... off."

Robert was now aware there were bigger problems. He looked up to the core. He wasn't an engineer. His science field was medical so he didn't know how to help there. But one thing is for sure, a warp core that was off was not a good thing. "Well can't you turn it back on?" He in the meantime turned his attention back to the tricorder. "I am no engineer but according to these readings...all holo emitters through out the entire ship are activated, and this ink is being projected on my hand, on the floors and on the walls." He held up his hand and then looked to the warp core. "But I can't explain why the warp core is....off. But can you turn it back on?"

"It's a warp core, not a light switch. Getting it back online will take hours in it's current state... Assuming..." He started before giving it a little extra thought, "Assuming we can trust what the console says, if the holo emitters are active they could be projecting false information... Bugger."

"That is most likely." Robert said. "But if the holo emitters are on all over the ship, then this mean we are under control of a holo program. And from the looks of it, and inky...cartoony one. Old style cartoon, I am assuming from the design of the character, maybe early 20th century."

This was when his wife's voice came over the com system. "This is the Captain speaking, all senior staff, please report to the observation lounge immediately."

"Well that confirms that. If this is the holo emitters, it's safe to say you can leave it be for a while. I think we should report to the observation lounge." Robert said.

"Well Commander... Welcome to the Ottawa."
