Mission: [USS Shanghai] S1, E1: So it Begins
Location: CO's Ready Room
Timeline: MD002 1000 hrs

Harry was sitting at his desk, he tapped a button on his desk, as he looked to Commodore Johnason. "Commander Bers, report to the Captain's ready room." Said Harry.

Bervag was on the bridge when the call came in. He tapped the command chair. "Be right there, Captain." he said

Bob smiled, "He was a good choice, Captain. Thank you for selecting him." Suggested Bob.

"He came highly recommend, even a letter of recommendation from you, sir." Pointed out Harry. He wondered why the Admiral recommended a former second officer and helmsman of the USS Defensia. He wondered what his connection to Bervag was?

The door intercom went off, just outside of the ready room. Bob smiled as he said, "That did not take long."

"No, It did not." Said Harry, as he then he called out. "Enter," in a stern tone.

Official summons meant official entry. "You sent for me, sir?" he said, protocol Bervag mode activated.

"I did, please have a seat, you remember Commodore Johnson?" Asked Harry.

Commodore Johnson He thought to himself. That name did sound familiar.

"It's good to see you again, Bers. It's your old friend Bobby." Said Bob, with a warm smile on his face. It had been a few years since he last saw the Bers Symbiont.

"Bobby Johnson." Bers said, warm smile forming at his own lips. "It has been a while! Congratulations! Last I heard you'd just made Captain."

"That was over 22 years ago, I think we have a lot of catching up to do. I will be transporting back to Deep Space Nine with you, can not wait to try out the Quantum slipstream drive with you all. I heard she flies like a beaut." Suggested Bobby, with a warm smile. Even though it had been 22 years ago and another host, he hoped there was still some trace of the old host, in the Bers symbiont.

"Glad to have you with us." Bervag replied. Nodding in agreement, smiling.

"I am eager to see what the Juno's new engines are capable of, Commander. " Said Bob with a big smile.

"I think we all are sir," said Harry.

"When is the Juno launching?" Asked Bob, he knew a rough timeframe. He hoped sooner the better. It had been a few weeks since he last slept in his own bed.

Before Harry could answer, a communication beep hit his combadge. "Bridge to Captain Anderson." said the duty officer on the bridge.

Harry was surprised the bridge was hailing him in his ready room. "Bridge this is Captain Anderson, report."

"Priority one message for Commodore Johnson and yourself." Said the duty officer.

"Reroute the call to my ready room, Anderson out." Ordered Harry, as the communication line closed. The monitor at Harry's desk started to beep. Bob made his way around the table, leaving Bervag in the shadows. "Stay Commander," said Bob.

Bers nodded. "Yes sir."

"Gentleman New Bajor was attacked, we are dispatching priority orders for the Juno to depart the system and investigate, you are authorized to engage quantum slipstream drive, we are sending you all the details we have, Captain, Commodore, it's not much to go on" said a high ranking Admiral with Starfleet.

"Understood sir, the Juno is ready to launch." Said Harry.

"Very well, I look forward to Commodore Johnson's report and yours, Starfleet command out." Said the Admiral as a data spike of information came across his computer terminal. Harry looked to Bervag.

"That was a short message from command," pointed out Harry, expecting a long dragged out chatter across subspace.

"Get use to it, Captain." Said Bob.

"Yes sir," said Harry, a little annoyed that the call ended to so quickly. "Are you going to assume command sir?" Asked Harry, knowing he could pull rank, he was the senior ranking officer in a potential combat situation.

"It's your ship Captain, I am just observer a passenger along for the ride." Said Bob with a concerned look on his face. He was concerned for the potential loss of life on New Bajor.

"Number One assemble the senior staff in the observation room. Time to get to work, I want to depart in one hour." Ordered Harry, giving his first set of command orders.

"Right away, Captain." Bers said. He nodded to his two superior officers before leaving the ready room. His mind focused on the situation at hand.

It was not an ideal situation, getting everyone to leave before the new year, but there was an emergency and starfleet needed to respond to the crisis. The USS Juno, was heading in the direction of New Bajor, so it made sense the Juno, would be dispatched to handle the situation.
