Mission:
[USS Ottawa] S1, E1: Abducted
Location: Ready Room
Timeline: MD+1, 1400
Dom had called everyone into his office, all parties had already arrived in the ready room. "Mister Hannigan you have the floor." He said, wanting to get this briefing over with as soon as possible. He was eager to free a prisoner of war. He could only imagine what his temporary first officer was going through. Ellie had been through a lot. But a small part of him, wondered how Sarah was doing? But he would have to worry about her later. Right now there was a marine in trouble and he needed their assistance.
Ellie was sitting next to Jazin. She wanted to know in what kind of trouble her brother has gotten himself in to now. As she was looking over to Hannigan and waited for him to speak up. Meanwhile under the table she had put her hand in to Jazin's lap and was just rubbing the inside of his thighs.
Jazin looked over to Hannigan, awaiting whatever news he had regarding anything to be honest. He felt Ellies hand, and his thoughts went straight to their future. Which hastened his drive to get her brother back as soon as he possibly could.
Lieutenant David Hannigan, went over all information Starfleet intelligence had on the whereabouts of Ellie's brother. He hoped the information provided was going to be useful.
"Thank you Mister Hannigan, the mission is simple a strike team lead by Commander Ijaan will extract Colonel Sheppard from the compound, while the rest of his security force ." Said Dom as he looked to see how Ellie was going to respond to him.
"They'll be ready, Captain." Jazin said.
"Pardon, me, did you say lead by commander Ijaan, sir?" Ellie wasn't sure she heard that right. "You drag me out of retirement just to sit back while the commander get's to do everything." She turned to Jazin a moment. "No offense, commander, but it's my brother. And I am not a weak miserable thing, I am still a marine, I faced worse things then the Gorn, I can handle this assignment."
"I do not doubt that, but given the fact he is your brother, your emotionally compromised. It would be foolish of me to send you into that situation. Commander Ijaan is a capable security officer, I did ask you to come back, to help bring your brother home safely. What if he tortured or used as leverage, to get you to stand down, would you risk killing your brother to save your team? There are to many variables." Said Dom. This gorn was desperate, and he had no doubt that the Gorn would use that as leverage.
"Captain, I am a marine, so is my brother. We both accepted the risks when we joined the force." She bit her lip. "I did not agree on coming out of retirement to sit on the bridge on my hands. I won't accept that." She was debating a bit on this whole situation. "How about you let me join the commanders team? I won't interfere with his orders and I won't pull rank on him." She took her rank pip off her collar and placed it in front of Jazin. "I'm just not going to stay behind, I am a marine, I just can't do that!"
Dom grabbed her rank and handed it back to her, "Are willing to kill your brother if need be?" Asked Dom as he went on. "No marine left behind, and no marine will be left to suffer. Do you really want that responsibility on your shoulders Colonel?" He asked, debating if he should lead this team.
Ellie looked to the rank the captain was holding her eyes turned serious. "Captain, if my brother is compromised, my brother told me he'd rather be dead then betray his uniform. And if needed, I will kill my own brother." She took a deep breath and took the rank. "He may be my brother, but I know what he wants, and I promised him that if one day I find him in such a situation, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot him. I haven't seen him in a long time, Captain, but I am a woman of my word."
Jazin saw the determined look on her face, and gave her room to talk. If there was one thing he learned at the academy was never get in a Marines way. Especially one he cares for. He understood the Captains point, however he was more than willing to provide a counterpoint. "Sir, if I may. I have no problem with Colonel Sheppard accompanying my team as she suggests. I'm never one to turn down an extra phaser." he had to smile. He picked up her oak leaf and nodded. "To expand on your torture point. If he had been conditioned. Who would know best than his own sister?"
"We will rescue your brother, but we have to be realistic. If this mission goes south, we will have to eliminate him. I rather not put you in that position." Said Dom, he went on to say. "I'll ask you again, Colonel. Do you really want that responsibility?" Asked Dom, looking Ellie in her eyes.
She looked back at him and slowly said, "Yes, captain, because it is my responsibility. And if the roles were reversed I'd want him to do the same thing." She turned away. "Or Jazin." She held the rank in her hand tightly. "So what do you say, captain?"
"Then you can lead the mission, do not make me regret this decision, Colonel." Said Dom, not really feeling comfortable allowing Ellie to go on the mission. But she was bound and determined.
Ellie put the rank back on her collar. "I won't, sir, thank you!"
"Commander back her up." Ordered Dom.
"All the way, Captain." Jazin smiled.
"Let's get your brother, Colonel." Said Dom, as he stood up to leave his ready room and walked onto the bridge.
