Mission: [New Haven] S1, E1: The Emissary's Return
Location: Bervags office

Captain Bers looked over a report. One he needed help with in a lot of ways. The rumor mill had it that the stations resident Crescent and the XOs daughter were an item now. He had to find out for himself. So he sent a call for T'San and Dan to meet him in his office.

Dan was in the kitchen when he got Bervag's message. He motioned to his staff to keep the kitchen running while he was out and then walked out, heading for the captain's officer.

As he got there he found T'San at the door as well. "I wonder what the captain need us both for."

T'San took a deep breath and said without blinking, "The both of us, could only mean T'Meela, or Orson or both of them. As I see no reason why the captain would talk the both of us about base operations or tomorrow's menu." She pressed the chime and the both of them waited to be let in.

"Come in guys "Bervag said, getting some tea ready.

Dan and T'San walked in. Dan politely helped his wife to sit down before he sat down next to her. As the tea was put in front of them he smiled to Bervag and nodded to him, "Thank you, Bervag. Now how may we help you today?"

T'San nodded in agreement. "Thank you, captain, the tea is appreciated."

"Glad you like it." Bervag said. He sipped his own tea. "I guess I'll come straight to it. Scuttlebutt has reached me. Apparently T'Meela and Orson are an item it seems."

T'San nodded and looked to Dan and said, "We suspected there might be something going on between the two. They seem to spend a lot of time together. I thought T'Meela was just trying to make Orson feel at home. But since she merged with you, or Bers, she may have started to develop feelings. I do think it might cloud her judgement or she sees something we do not."

"Perhaps we should meet with them. Kinda steer them. As you said, T'San. T'meela now has a connection with Bers. And I can still feel her inside me from the switch. " Bervag said.

"But we know about the already. However Orson may not. And he's a good kid despite the reputation of his people. I'd hate for them to be hurt. What do you think Dan?"

Dan had been quiet so far. He was in thought. He looked up when Bervag spoke to him. "Oh well, I love my daughter, she is our only daughter. As a father I seek to protect her of course. But Orson is a good kid. I do not sense any deception from him. Though it pains me to say, but my little girl is all grown up. And I am happy for her. It might be a good thing. Relations with the Crescent are growing grim by the minute, the Juno came back pretty damaged so far it had to be replaced. And I hear that things are stirring in the Gamma quadrant. The only one we can rely on right now is Orson. And our daughter is deeply connected to him somehow. We should talk to them of course."

"I agree wholeheartedly." Bervags replied, sipping at his tea. "And I can't help but feel responsible for Orson. After all, it was T'San and myself who went to bat for him in the first place."

T'San nodded. "We took him in. He was granted asylum. He has no parents. Not here. We must take care of him as well. He is practically family already. Maybe someone should adopt him. He should have a family here if wants to be with our daughter." She looked to Bervag as she said that.

"Logical" Bervags said. "And a damn fine idea to boot." The Trill said. "I'll offer it to him, but the decision is ultimately his" Bervag replied, again sipping his tea.

Bers squirmed and Bervag looked at T'San and then to Dan. "Assuming I understand correctly. I adopt Orson? If so, Dan should expect visits from time to time" Bervag smiled.

Dan laughed. "No problem, Bervag." He hit the man on the shoulder. "I think you will do fine as father. I am sure there is a host memory in there that could help you with parenting. Orson seems like an easy kid, even though he is a teenager."

"Thanks for that Dan. It means a lot to me" Bervag said.

"Yea, anytime," said Dan. "It'd be nice to talk to someone else other then grumpy Harry about teenagers."

"I hate to interrupt the male bonding here," said T'San, "shouldn't we be looking at confronting our children now?" She asked getting up.

"Yes, of course. You're right, T'San " Bervag said.

"So where are they?" T'San asked and then called out, "Computer, what is the location of T'Meela and Orson?"

The computer tjirped and replied, "T'Meela and Orson are in holodeck 2."

Dan got up. "Well that's where we go then."

"Let's go" Bervag said.
