You Have a Second?

Mission: [USS Ottawa] S1, E1: Abducted
Location: Airlock
Timeline: MD+1, 1200 Hours

Dom was with the first group of personal to board the USS Ottawa, when he noticed a man wearing a grey uniform. He walked up to him on his left side, he remained silent for a moment. He was debating what to say. "Do you second Lieutenant?" He asked waiting to see what David was going to say. While he waited that brief moment he reshuffled both of his duffel bags in his hands.

David cut his eyes and let out a deep breath, 'So much for reporting aboard and having time to settle in' he thought to himself. "Yes..." He said as he turned to face person that addressed him, then he noticed the pips on his collar. "...sir?"

"Sorry to swarm ya at the airlock, but I have a 1400 meeting I want you to attend in my ready room, prepare your files on the abduction of Colonel Johnathan Sheppard." Said Dom, wanting to give his new chief intelligence officer a little time to prepare for his briefing. "We will do a meet and greet later, we have work to be done if we are going to launch tomorrow." Suggested Dom. He was a firm believer in getting down to the point.

David gave a respectful nod, then replied, "Aye sir, I'll have everything together." He then turned back toward doorway, adjusted the strap of his 'go fast' bag, picked up his duffel, then walked though. 'Small talk just isn't my thing, sorry Cap.' he thought to himself as he started to walk forward.

However, after a step, he turned back to face the Captain. "Sir, if I may, did you ask for me to be assigned to the Ottawa, or was a transferred by Starfleet's Personnel Department?"

"I asked for you. When I was reviewing candidates, I read your file. I knew I had to take you before another Captain discovered what I did. I love the way your analytical mind works. I know you are dedicated to work and loyal to a fault, I like working with men and woman that has those traits. Your a closer and an overachiever, both a good thing to have on my crew." Suggested Dom.

David cocked his head to the side for a moment. Was this guy just screwing with him, or was he on the level. Only time would tell, but after everything that had happened in the recent past, David was a little cynical, too cynical for his own good probably.

He finally replied to his new Captain, "Aye sir." He really didn't know what else to say at the moment.

"Sorry you won't have time to settle in, but we need to act fast. I need all of the intelligence you can share with me by 1400 hours, I know I can count on you." Said Dom, as he got ready to walk away. Dom had a lot on his mind, and he had a lot of personal to see, and a very short time to see them all in.

David watched his new CO walk away. He shook his head for a minute then headed for his new quarters. 'All of the intelligence you can share' the thought to himself, 'well, then grandma's cookie recipe is out of the question.' "I need a drink." he said out loud to no one as he entered a turbolift.
